**Programme Director in Social Inequality**

The Department of Political and Social Sciences (SPS) at the European University Institute (EUI) is

seeking applicants for the appointment of a Programme Director in Social Inequality.

The SPS Department is committed to advancing research on critical societal issues, particularly

focusing on the societal implications of ever-increasing gender convergence. The research

programme will shed light on the impact of women’s advancement in the labour market for family

and the workplace. This strategic direction aims to bolster the department's expertise in social

demography, responding to the growing demand for comprehensive research, supervision, and

mentoring in this vital area. Moreover, it seeks to foster interdisciplinary collaborations within the

department and with scholars from other disciplines working on the dynamics of gender inequality

and its implications for the family and the labour market. As part of this initiative, we are seeking a

dedicated and accomplished researcher to join our dynamic team and contribute to cutting-edge

research on the intersection between class and gender..
