Legal Counsel Southern Region

With your professional experience, you support the management at the office in Turin, IT as legal counsel in all legal matters of its fast-growing business activities and post-merger activities.

Your tasks and responsibilities
- **Provide** legal advice and support to WSP’s **Italian, Turkish, Spanish, Portuguese and Hungarian business**:

- Support the implementation of WSP’s strategy in Central Europe
- **Review, draft and negotiate a wide range of legal documents** including professional services agreements, reliance letters, framework agreements and warranties
- Anticipate and identify legal issues of concern and proactively develop effective legal solutions
- **Proactively manage claims and disputes arising** in relation to WSP’s Italian, Turkish, Spanish, Portuguese and Hungarian business ensuring swift resolution of potential claims to mitigate costs
- Provide advice on compliance with data protection and privacy regulations, particularly GDPR
- Provide advice and support to the business to ensure compliance with WSP’s policies including the Delegation of Authority policy
- **Ensure WSP complies with national and international laws** as well as local statutes and regulations
- **Develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders** within WSP across Legal, Ethics and Compliance, Insurance, Internal Audit, Human Resources, Communications and Finance functions
- Prepare and submit reports to regional and global colleagues on key metrics and initiatives
- Manage and deliver initiatives within the region and globally from time to time
- **Minimize and manage reliance on external legal counsel**, where necessary utilising agreed protocols and managing agreed budgets to minimise and control costs

**Profile**:

- **Legal qualifications in Italy**:

- Experience in working in the built and natural environment sector
- Experience in covering a regional role including multiple companies and countries within a large multi-national corporate environment
- **Good knowledge of contract law and experience negotiating contracts with clients and vendors**, including with outside counsels representing them
- Familiarity with a broad range of contractual issues including limits of liability, indemnities and warranties
- Demonstrable track record of providing commercial, pragmatic and high-quality legal advice
- **Exceptional communication skills** for this collaborative and interactive environment
- Ability to explain complex and sometimes challenging issues in simple ways
- Ability to work well independently, coupled with strong interpersonal skills, resourcefulness and an ability to participate in a highly collaborative team environment
- **Profound knowledge of the business process**:

- Excellent Italian language skills, both spoken and written
- **Fluent English language skills are required**, both spoken and written
