The Role

At Kyndryl, we are looking for experienced Mainframe System Administrators to join our infrastructure team. This role is focused on the administration and support of IBM Mainframe environments (z/OS), ensuring stability, performance, and security of critical customer platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and support IBM Mainframe z/OS systems in production environments

• Perform system monitoring, performance analysis, and capacity planning

• Install, configure, and maintain mainframe subsystems (e.g., CICS, DB2, IMS)

• Manage RACF security profiles and support system access controls

• Perform incident, problem, and change management according to ITIL practices

• Provide root cause analysis and implement preventive measures for recurring issues

• Collaborate with project teams to deliver upgrades, migrations, and new implementations

• Prepare and maintain technical documentation and procedures

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Proven hands-on experience as a Mainframe System Administrator (not operator)

• Strong knowledge of z/OS, JCL, and mainframe system utilities

• Experience with RACF or other mainframe security tools

• Familiarity with subsystems such as CICS, DB2, IMS

• Experience in system performance monitoring and troubleshooting

• Working knowledge of incident, problem, and change management processes

• Fluent in Italian and good level of English

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

• Knowledge of automation tools (e.g. REXX, CLIST, scripting)

• Experience with batch monitoring tools (IBM TWS, BMC Control-M)

• Exposure to ITIL certifications or equivalent
