Support Engineer Intern - Strategic Student Program

Based: Hybrid. Torino, Italy - Internship 6 months – Possibility of extension.

Siemens Digital Industries Software is a leading provider of solutions for the design, simulation, and manufacture of products across many different industries. Formula 1 cars, skyscrapers, ships, space exploration vehicles, and many of the objects we see in our daily lives are being conceived and manufactured using our Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software.

Position Overview:

As a Support Engineering Intern, you will play a critical role in helping our team streamline our case management processes and tools. Using your software development skills and AI knowledge, you will create custom solutions to automate repetitive tasks, improve data tracking, and enhance the overall efficiency of our support operations.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze current support case workflows and areas for improvement
• Design and develop solution based on AI to optimize case management processes
• Collaborate with the Support Engineering team and management to understand challenges and requirements
• Test and refine your solutions to ensure maximum impact and user adoption

This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced support environment. By deeply understanding our processes, tools, and challenges, you will have the chance to apply your technical skills in a practical, business-oriented setting.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:

• You are currently pursuing a Master's degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or comparable technical training with professional experience or a related field, in Italy.
• You have a solid foundation in programming and software development skills.
• You possess knowledge in Artificial Intelligence.
• Your interpersonal and communication skills, in English, enable effective collaboration within the team. You demonstrate curiosity, initiative, and strong analysis skills.

The Strategic Student Program is our formal internship program at Siemens Digital Industries Software globally. You will be mentored by experts and again invaluable professional experience. The Siemens Strategic Student Program (SSP) in Italy offers a part-time (25 hours per week) or full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship. Based in Torino, Italy, the program follows a hybrid work model and runs for six months, starting from February. To be eligible, applicants must be enrolled at an Italian university for the entire duration of the program, including both Italian and international students. Both curricular and extracurricular internships are accepted.
