We are looking for an experienced
UX/UI Designer

to join our team in
Milan

and help define the future of digital products within Siemens Smart Infrastructure. In this position, you will play a key role in shaping product design and delivering impactful user experiences for advanced solutions in building automation, with a particular emphasis on fire safety technologies (detection, evacuation, and suppression).

This role centers on innovative B2B digital tools and requires close collaboration with an international, multidisciplinary team including UX professionals, product managers, technical architects, and software engineers.

English is the main working language, and all application materials and communication (CV, portfolio, interviews) should therefore be submitted in English.

Your responsibilities

  • Create intuitive and scalable user experiences for Siemens' digital ecosystem, spanning desktop, web, and mobile applications such as configuration platforms, building visualization tools, and touch-based interfaces.
  • Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to turn research findings into meaningful design proposals, embracing feedback and contributing to shared knowledge.
  • Develop concepts, interfaces, and prototypes that reflect a strong user-centered approach, supporting projects focused on smart buildings and next-generation fire safety.
  • Communicate design rationale and insights to internal teams and external partners, ensuring alignment and consistency in design practices.
  • Take part in onboarding activities, community learning sessions, and ongoing efforts to strengthen UX culture across Siemens Smart Infrastructure, collaborating frequently with our colleagues in Zug, Switzerland.

What we're looking for

  • A Master's degree (or equivalent practical background) in Interaction Design, UX Design, or a related field, along with at least 4 years of hands-on UX/UI experience in digital product design.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing well-structured design processes, interaction design capabilities, effective prototyping skills, and familiarity with evolving design systems.
  • Solid mastery of design tools such as Figma, and experience working with design systems to deliver consistent, scalable, and high-quality user interfaces.
  • A proactive mindset, eager to experiment with new methods, introduce fresh ideas, and challenge established ways of working when needed.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with a collaborative attitude that promotes transparency, respect, and knowledge sharing across diverse teams.
  • Proficiency in both English and Italian, with the ability to present work clearly and produce documentation in either language.
  • Experience in industrial or B2B environments and/or designing within Agile development frameworks is considered an advantage.
