Role Summary
St Louis School – Archinto is seeking a talented and committed
Biology Teacher
to join the Science Department from
August 2026
. The successful candidate will teach Biology to our IB Diploma Programme students, and contribute to the continued development of a high-performing Science faculty.
This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic educator who is passionate about science education, inquiry-based learning, and supporting students in achieving excellent academic outcomes within an international school environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality Biology teaching aligned with IGCSE and IB Diploma Programme requirements
- Prepare students effectively for internal and external assessments
- Foster curiosity, critical thinking and scientific inquiry through engaging lessons
- Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development
- Use assessment data to monitor progress and support student achievement
- Support students for whom English is an additional language
- Participate fully in school life, including meetings, professional development and co-curricular activities
- Uphold and promote the IB Learner Profile and Inspired Education ethos
Essential
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- Legal right to live and work in Italy or an EU passport
- Degree in Biology or a closely related scientific discipline
- Recognised teaching qualification
- Minimum of 2 years' teaching experience at secondary level
- Experience teaching Biology to IGCSE and/or IB Diploma Programme students
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Commitment to inclusive, student-centred learning
Preferred
- Experience in an international or multicultural school setting
- Proven success delivering IB DP Biology
- Ability to contribute to broader science or interdisciplinary initiatives
