Reporting to the Corporate Accounting Manager, the Corporate Staff Accountant plays a key role in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. This position is responsible for preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and monitoring internal controls in compliance with US GAAP. The role supports month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, tax filings, and both internal and external reporting requirements. In addition, the Corporate Staff Accountant partners with teams across finance and operations to drive process improvements and support special projects that enhance efficiency and transparency.

  • Prepare and post month-end journal entries; support accurate and timely financial statement preparation.
  • Compile, review, and file sales tax returns; ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Monitor and maintain compliance with licenses and permits.
  • Manage property tax schedules and ensure timely payments and filings.
  • Perform account reconciliations for customer/vendor rebates, prepaids, intangibles and accrual accounts; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
  • Review and process travel and expense (T&E) submissions; ensuring compliance with company policies and accurate reporting.
  • Support special projects and initiatives as needed to enhance financial operations.
Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or equivalent preferred
  • Three or more years of relevant work experience
  • Intermediate or Advanced Excel skills (Power Query, Power Pivot, etc.) a plus
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP or similar ERP systems preferred
  • Cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment a plus

The position is located in a professional office setting where the position requires occasional standing, stooping, bending, twisting, walking, and lifting.

Position requires extended periods of sitting; screen use, occasional travel in a car to other locations; working with multiple types of technology (smart phone, laptop, tablet, etc.) Must have an ability to work in an office setting.

Position may require extended hours including evenings and weekends and some travel.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; type on a keyboard, manipulate a computer mouse; communicate using the voice either in person or via telephone; hear and listen to people either in person or by telephone.

The position requires regular use of the telephone to communicate; extended periods of sitting and working at a monitor/computer screen. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The position requires regular ability to read, comprehend, analyze and understand numbers and words.
