Role: 3D Artist for Therapeutic XR Experiences

We're looking for a 
3D Artist
 with sensitivity, creativity, and a passion for meaningful design — someone who can craft calming, stylized worlds that promote comfort and well-being in therapeutic contexts.

Our stylized, low-poly approach is intentionally designed to be:

  • Calming and non-threatening

for patients in vulnerable states
- Performance-optimized

to run smoothly on medical-grade XR equipment
- Visually clear

for users who may be experiencing medication effects or discomfort
- Universally appealing

across different age groups and cultural backgrounds

Your responsibilities:Therapeutic Environment Design

  • Create calming, stylized 3D environments (nature scenes, abstract spaces, peaceful settings, indoor scenes)
  • Design low-poly assets that promote relaxation and reduce visual stress
  • Develop modular environment systems for varied meditation experiences
  • Ensure all visuals support therapeutic goals without causing discomfort

Interactive Elements

  • Design and model interactive 3D objects for breathing exercises and mindfulness activities
  • Create visual feedback systems for biometric integration (heart rate, breathing patterns)
  • Develop particle effects and ambient animations that enhance relaxation
  • Optional: Create gentle, soothing animations for environmental elements

Healthcare-Specific Requirements

  • Design with accessibility in mind (color blindness, visual impairments, motion sensitivity)
  • Create clear visual hierarchies for users who may be experiencing stress or medication effects
  • Optimize for extended viewing sessions without causing eye strain or discomfort

Technical Implementation

  • Texture painting with calming color palettes based on color psychology research
  • Material and shader optimization for consistent 90+ FPS in VR
  • LOD creation for seamless performance across different hardware
  • Collaborate with developers to integrate biometric feedback visualizations

Your skills/experience:
Essential:

  • Portfolio demonstrating
    stylized, low-poly 3D art
  • Experience with 3D software (Blender, Maya, 3ds Max, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of color theory and its psychological effects
  • Texture painting skills with focus on calming, therapeutic aesthetics
  • Unity experience (or willingness to learn)
  • Sensitivity to healthcare contexts and patient needs
  • Excellent English communication skills
  • Attention to detail and user-centered design thinking

Highly Valuable:

  • Experience in healthcare, wellness, or therapeutic applications
  • Knowledge of VR/AR development and optimization
  • Understanding of accessibility guidelines and inclusive design
  • Animation skills for gentle, ambient movements
  • Experience with procedural content generation
  • Familiarity with meditation/mindfulness apps or experiences

  • Background in UX/UI design for healthcare
