Job Description

We are seeking a motivated
Junior Electrical PV & BESS System Engineer
to join our Energy Efficiency team. The successful candidate will assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of
photovoltaic (PV) solar and battery energy storage systems (BESS)
. This role provides hands-on experience in solar and storage project development, electrical design, and system performance analysis, with mentorship from senior engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the
  design and layout
  of PV and BESS systems, including single-line diagrams, cable sizing, grounding, and protection schemes
• Support in preparing
  technical drawings, specifications, and documentation
  for solar + storage projects
• Conduct
  site assessments and feasibility studies
  , including load analysis, shading studies, and energy yield/storage modeling
• Perform
  electrical calculations
  (voltage drop, short-circuit, power losses, system efficiency).
• Collaborate with project managers, civil engineers, and contractors to ensure
  system integration between PV, BESS, and grid infrastructure
• Support the
  installation, testing, and commissioning
  of PV and BESS systems.
• Monitor
  system performance
  and assist in troubleshooting technical issues for both PV and BESS assets
• Ensure compliance with relevant
  electrical codes, safety standards, and grid interconnection requirements
• Stay updated on emerging
  solar + storage technologies, standards, and best practices

Qualifications

• BSc in
  Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, or related field
• Basic knowledge of
  photovoltaic systems, inverters, battery technologies, and electrical equipment
• Familiarity with
  AutoCAD, PVsyst, ETAP, HOMER, or similar software
  is a plus
• Understanding of
  IEC, NEC, IEEE, or local electrical codes and standards
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good communication and teamwork abilities
• Willingness to learn and grow in the renewable energy and energy storage sector
• Hands-on exposure to
  electrical installations, testing, and commissioning

Preferred Skills (Not Mandatory):

• Internship or project experience in solar PV or BESS
• Knowledge of
  battery chemistries (e.g., Li-ion, flow batteries)
  and BMS (Battery Management Systems)
• Familiarity with
  SCADA and monitoring systems
