Job title: Software Developer

Location: Cucciago (CO)

Software Developer is the role dedicated to the development of proprietary software products. In particular, the candidate will be responsible for the on-board software for the robotic laser welding product line. In this context, the activity will be strongly synergistic with developments in automation, robotics and processes, as well as mechanical and electrical design. 

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test and document software for human-machine interaction for robotic laser welding cells, ensuring their correct operation;
  • Design, develop, test and document software for communication with peripherals and cell devices and process the data exchanged with them;
  • Investigating and proposing innovative solutions;  
  • Contribute to the knowledge transfer of the solutions developed to other team members and other areas of the company. 

Activities

  • Analysis, design and development of human-machine interaction (HMI) software and on-board device control software;  
  • Definition and transfer of software functionality specifications, agreeing them with internal and external customers, in line with quality, cost and execution time objectives;
  • Drafting project documentation and providing training to internal and external customers on areas within their competence.

Must have

  • Master's degree in STEM disciplines; 
  • At least 2-3 years' experience in programming in C/C++ and C# languages, preferably in a technical-scientific field in a Linux environment (Debian, Preemptive RT or Xenomai) and MS Windows (MS VisualStudio and the .NET platform); 
  • Experience in designing multilingual graphical interfaces in WPF/HTML5 environments; 
  • Knowledge of IIoT systems and networks, OPC-UA communication protocol, main fieldbuses and related communication security issues; 
  • Good knowledge of GIT and GITLAB version management tools; 
  • Knowledge of networking: security, hardware, protocols and topologies; 
  • Fluency in English (level B2/C1); 
  • Good knowledge of Italian language (level B2);
  • Willingness to travel regularly to the Group's Italian offices;
  • Collaborative and open-minded attitude, useful for joining a team composed of people with different and synergistic technical skills; 
  • Ability to analyse and develop solutions proactively; 
  • Organisational skills, flexibility and dynamism, precision and methodological rigour; 
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn, to know, to keep up to date and to innovate.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of the MVVM design pattern; 
  • Knowledge of relational databases, e.g. MongoDB, MariaDB, Postgres, MySQL; 
  • Knowledge of microservice architectures, REST APIs, containerisation (Docker); 
  • Knowledge of ROS 2, Python, console scripts, SNAP; 
  • Knowledge of industrial vision techniques; 
  • Knowledge and experience with data mining and machine learning algorithms for classification, regression and clustering.
