Role Purpose
The HSSE Sub-regional Lead will manage the implementation of JLL's HSSE management systems across client sites in a designated sub-region (Italy). The most important objective of this role will be ensuring that our employees and contractors return home safe and healthy at the end of their working day, and we minimize our Environmental impact. Delivery of this will require a focus on incident reduction, consistent and proactive client engagement and close alignment across sub-regions.
This key account role provides tactical HSSE leadership, ensuring that all sites in their sub-region are compliant with JLL, client, and local regulatory requirements. You will be the primary HSSE point of contact for Italy, responsible for deploying EMEA strategies at the local level, managing risk, and driving a strong health, safety and environmental culture. This role will need to be highly visible, and the work is fast paced. The successful candidate must ensure that critical stakeholders, including employees and client teams, receive timely, relevant information and appropriate advice on HSSE matters. The role holder must have an acute eye for HSSE risks and be able to foster a strong culture of health, safety & environmental management, delivering world class results, improved productivity and flawless execution.
This position reports to the JLL Global & EMEA HSSE Director and will work closely with the Account Workplace Management Sub-Regional Leads, with regular reporting on HSSE performance. Other key stakeholders include Engineering, Quality & Compliance, Finance & HR team leads. Domestic and international travel will be required, expected to be 20-25% of working time.
What This Job Involves
Tactical Implementation
- Implement account objectives and annual plans at sub-regional level, aligned to client expectations.
- Manage and reduce HSSE risks by providing guidance and advice on risk management at all levels.
- Implement contractor compliance monitoring and performance reviews in your assigned region.
- Deliver localized training programs, blending live and eLearning formats to meet country-specific requirements.
- Complete prioritized site inspections, coaching site facility managers, addressing HSSE concerns and driving improvement.
- Provide technical advice on relevant HSSE issues and communicate changes in legislation that will impact on service delivery and/or client operations, as the first point of contact for sites in your sub-region.
Monitoring, Response & Reporting
- Support site teams in incident reporting and investigation processes, ensuring timely reporting compliance.
- Perform regional audits and maintain local legal registers to ensure compliance.
- Support development of emergency plans and business continuity planning activities.
- Collect sub-regional performance data and prepare reports for management reviews.
- Participate in operational management meetings and hold regular update meetings with client site leads and other stakeholders.
Program & Culture Development
- Actively support and implement key HSSE programs focused on Culture Development, Health & Wellbeing, and High-Risk Work Management.
- Proactively develop and manage client relationships, ensuring expected service levels are achieved.
- Establish effective relationships and work co-operatively with the wider account team and 3rd party vendors.
- Promote a strong safety culture through programs like "One Team S.A.F.E.R Together," leadership training, and proactive communications.
- Identify innovations and improvement opportunities to drive best practices across the account.
Our ideal candidate will have:
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in HSSE management, preferably with experience across multiple sites or regions.
- A degree in occupational safety and health, safety engineering, or a related subject, along with recognized professional HSSE qualifications.
- Experience in the implementation and auditing of environmental, health, and safety management systems like ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
- Experience in Life Sciences manufacturing, GxP regulated environments, laboratories, or logistics environments is highly desirable.
- Expertise in managing high-risk work, such as working at height, electrical work, and working in confined spaces.
- Fluent in English and Italian, with proficiency in other languages an advantage.

Questa posizione riporta al Direttore HSSE Globale & EMEA di JLL e lavorerà a stretto contatto con i Responsabili Sub-regionali Account Workplace Management, con reportistica regolare sulle prestazioni HSSE. Altri stakeholder chiave includono i responsabili dei team Ingegneria, Qualità e Conformità, Finanza e HR. Saranno richiesti viaggi nazionali e internazionali, previsti per il 20-25% del tempo di lavoro.
Cosa comporta questo lavoro:
- Implementare obiettivi account e piani annuali a livello sub-regionale, allineati alle aspettative dei clienti.
- Gestire e ridurre i rischi HSSE fornendo orientamento e consigli sulla gestione del rischio a tutti i livelli.
- Implementare il monitoraggio della conformità degli appaltatori e le revisioni delle prestazioni nella regione assegnata.
- Fornire programmi di formazione localizzati, combinando formati live ed eLearning per soddisfare i requisiti specifici del paese.
- Completare ispezioni prioritarie dei siti, coaching dei facility manager, affrontando le preoccupazioni HSSE e guidando il miglioramento.
- Fornire consigli tecnici su questioni HSSE rilevanti e comunicare cambiamenti nella legislazione che impatteranno sulla consegna del servizio e/o operazioni clienti, come primo punto di contatto per i siti nella sub-regione.
Monitoraggio, Risposta e Reportistica
- Supportare i team del sito nei processi di reportistica e investigazione degli incidenti, garantendo la conformità della reportistica tempestiva.
- Eseguire audit regionali e mantenere registri legali locali per garantire la conformità.
- Supportare lo sviluppo di piani di emergenza e attività di pianificazione della continuità aziendale.
- Raccogliere dati delle prestazioni sub-regionali e preparare report per le revisioni del management.
- Partecipare alle riunioni di gestione operativa e tenere riunioni di aggiornamento regolari con i responsabili dei siti clienti e altri stakeholder.
Sviluppo di Programmi e Cultura
- Supportare attivamente e implementare programmi HSSE chiave focalizzati su Sviluppo della Cultura, Salute e Benessere, e Gestione del Lavoro ad Alto Rischio.
- Sviluppare proattivamente e gestire relazioni clienti, garantendo che i livelli di servizio attesi siano raggiunti.
- Stabilire relazioni efficaci e lavorare cooperativamente con il team account più ampio e fornitori terzi.
- Promuovere una forte cultura della sicurezza attraverso programmi come "One Team S.A.F.E.R Together," formazione alla leadership e comunicazioni proattive.
- Identificare innovazioni e opportunità di miglioramento per guidare le migliori pratiche nell'account.
La persona ideale avrà:
- Un minimo di 7 anni di esperienza nella gestione HSSE, preferibilmente con esperienza in più siti o regioni.
- Una laurea in sicurezza e salute sul lavoro, ingegneria della sicurezza o materia correlata, insieme a qualifiche professionali HSSE riconosciute.
- Esperienza nell'implementazione e audit di sistemi di gestione ambientale, della salute e della sicurezza come ISO 45001 e ISO 14001.
- Esperienza in produzione Life Sciences, ambienti regolamentati GxP, laboratori o ambienti logistici è altamente desiderabile.
- Competenza nella gestione di lavori ad alto rischio, come lavoro in altezza, lavoro elettrico e lavoro in spazi confinati.
- Fluente in inglese e italiano, con competenza in altre lingue come vantaggio.
