GIS Specialist

Description:-

• Master's degree in IT or relevant discipline, combined with minimum 5 years of relevant working experience in IT;
• Good knowledge of Geographical Information Systems software (ArcGIS, ArcMap, QGIS);
• Good knowledge of Python and R applied to spatial data and data visualization;
• Experience in integrating high spatial resolution data from a variety of different systems to database format, with increasing volumes of data and ensuring optimal performance;
• Deep knowledge in provision of technical evaluations;
• Experience in quality assessment provision;

The following would be considered valuable assets:

1. Understanding of environmental and climate change related issues;
2. Experience in developing up to date greenhouse gas emission inventories at global, national, sub-national and urban level;
3. Experience in the processing and analysis of data, preferably in the area of emissions, air quality and climate change;
4. Knowledge of PHP, JavaScript (incl. Ajax), XHTML, CSS;

5. Knowledge of MySQL Database, Microsoft SQL Server Database, IIS and PHP configuration of web-server;

6. Excellent command of the English language.
