Communications Intern

Carlo Ratti Associati is an international design and innovation office working at the intersection of architecture, technology, and the contemporary city. Our projects range from buildings and exhibitions to urban research, digital systems, and experimental startups. What unites them is a belief that design is a public act, a way of engaging with the world, rather than just decorating it.

We are seeking a Communications Intern to join our Communications team in Turin. This role is intended for someone at the beginning of their professional life who is drawn to architecture and cities, and especially to the act of explaining them; the slow, careful work of turning complex ideas into language, images, and records that can travel.

As part of our team, you will support how we communicate the work of the CRA Group—both our design office and our startups—across digital platforms, press channels, and internal systems. You will help maintain our archives, assist in the production of written and visual materials, and contribute to the everyday craft of communication that allows ideas to circulate.

Key responsibilities:

Internal Communications

Help us strengthen the tools and materials that keep our teams informed, connected, and aware of the work being done across the CRA Group.

Social Media

Support the studio's social media presence by writing copy, producing and coordinating visual content, and using data to understand how our work is received and shared.

Startups Communications

Support communications and press relations for the CRA Group's startups, including Makr Shakr and Maestro Technologies.

Digital Archives and Platforms

Update, organize, and maintain digital assets, press mentions, and company websites, ensuring that our work is properly documented and accessible.

Awards and Research Support

Assist with research, writing, and editing for awards submissions and other institutional materials across the CRA Group.

Cross-Team Collaboration

Work with design, research, and business development teams to ensure consistency between internal work, external communication, and media requests.

Qualifications:

  • Fluency in English is required; Italian is welcome.
  • Strong writing and communication skills, with attention to clarity and detail.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and basic graphic design tools.
  • Background in Humanities, Architecture, Communications, Journalism, Design, or related fields.
  • Proficiency with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Mailchimp, and social media management tools is a plus.
  • An open, engaged, and solution-oriented attitude.
  • Eligibility to work in the Schengen area.
