For our Italian entity Burckhardt Compression Italia, we are looking for an experienced and motivated professional to join our Finance & Administration team. In this challenging and varied role, you will report to the Head of Finance and collaborate closely with the Contracting (Project Management) team, the Service Operations organization, and the wider Finance & Controlling community.

Senior Controller
Your daily contribution:
The Senior Controller is responsible for ensuring high‑quality financial analysis, project controlling, and performance reporting for both the Systems (SYST) and Service (SERV) divisions. The role acts as a proactive business partner to Project Management and Operations, providing reliable financial insights that support execution, profitability, and strategic decision‑making.

• You will lead Project Controlling for the Systems (SYST) division:
• performing detailed revenue, margin, cost and WIP analyses;
• managing accruals, provisions, late cost assessments and FX effects;
• preparing monthly closing deliverables;
• developing accurate revenue, margin and total cost forecasts;
• uploading forecasts into Cognos;
• contributing to monthly Project Performance Review Meetings with meaningful variance explanations and financial insights;
• You will oversee Service Business Controlling for the SERV division:
• executing monthly closing activities;
• conducting profitability analysis by business line (Field Service, Repairs, Spare Parts, etc.);
• reviewing actuals versus expectations; analyzing cost allocations and operational drivers
• delivering structured commentary to support management decisions and operational performance improvements.
• You will ensure high‑quality Performance Analysis, Reporting and Business Partnering:
• preparing comprehensive operational and financial analysis (incl. WIP and ad‑hoc deep dives);
• supporting profitability analysis by segment, product line and project;
• delivering statutory and management forecast packages under different cost methods;
• partnering closely with Project Managers and Operations to challenge assumptions and enable informed decision‑making;
• preparing financial materials and commentary for monthly Operations Review Meetings;
• Supporting external audits regarding project financials.

Your Profile:

• Degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, or Controlling.
• Several years of proven experience in project controlling within an industrial environment, preferably in mechanical or plant engineering and with exposure to service business models.
• Strong SAP knowledge: FI/CO & PS required, SD desirable.
• Excellent Excel skills (advanced functions, data analysis, modeling).
• Fluent English (written and spoken).
