illycaffè is an Italian company founded in Trieste in 1933, with the mission of offering the best coffee to the world.

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Industrial Engineering Director to join our team. This role, part of the Supply Chain Department, will lead the whole industrial engineering activity across the organization - ensuring the development and enhancement of industrial capabilities, processes, plants, and the spare parts warehouse. The position will address the needs arising from increasing production volumes, the introduction of new products, and the improvement of existing ones, while maintaining a consistent focus on quality, reliability, ergonomics, machinery safety, and cost efficiency. The scope of responsibility covers the Italian Headquarters and international industrial development.

What will you do as an Industrial Engineering Director:

  • Lead the implementation of production lines to meet market needs and support the evolution of the internally produced coffee product range.
  • Drive continuous improvement plans for the plant, focusing on efficiency, waste reduction, resource optimization, and facility management.
  • Manage the mechanical, electrical, electronic, and software design of plants (or co-design activities with suppliers).
  • Plan and coordinate the design, construction, and maintenance of infrastructures and systems, ensuring regulatory compliance and continuous improvement of facilities.
  • Oversee industrial development projects complementary to production.
  • Ensure machinery complies with standards and that all equipment is manufactured and installed in accordance with safety requirements.
  • Manage the spare parts warehouse, defining reorder policies and stock levels.
  • Define and develop the international industrial plan, ensuring alignment with the company's global strategy.
  • Promote a lean culture through plant improvement programs, identifying technical solutions to enhance line performance and efficiency.
  • Oversee the management of new plant orders and collaborate with the Industrialization Office to ensure deadlines and expected performance are met.
  • Apply company HR policies to the team under your responsibility.

Requirements:

  • 10 years of progressive experience in Industrial Development, Engineering roles, ideally within the Automotive or FMCG industry.
  • Proven experience in leading engineering teams and managing strategic projects on a global or multi-country scale.
  • Master's degree in engineering, supply chain management, or a related field; an MBA is a plus.
  • Fluency in English (spoken and written);
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
  • A strategic, analytical, and proactive mindset, with the ability to operate in dynamic, complex environments.
