We are seeking a skilled and experienced R&D Engineer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong experimental background, a proven ability to find innovative solutions to complex problems, and keen attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Leadership and Management:

  • Lead and execute R&D projects focused on medium voltage accessories.
  • Carry out product development projects at different stages (feasibility studies, cost assessment, product design, prototypes, tests, official qualifications).
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Operations, Engineering, and other R&D functions) to develop projects and activities to ensure milestones are met.
  • Support the growth of the R&D team and contribute to a collaborative work environment.

Technical Development and Innovation:

  • Identify technical solutions to either a given problem or a market opportunity.
  • Conduct research projects on new products such as components, equipment, systems, and processes.
  • Follow laboratory tests and experiments to validate product designs and improvements.
  • Perform reverse engineering and product benchmarking to enhance and support the product development.
  • Propose and implement standardized procedures for product development and testing.
  • Apply problem-solving skills to address technical challenges and improve product performance.
  • Use finite element simulations to optimize product designs.
  • Ensure the role of advice and expertise with Engineering teams.
  • Continue to improve materials and products.

Quality and Compliance:

  • Analyze data and prepare technical reports to support product development.
  • Verify and/or validate the conformity of products regarding standards requirements and/or customer specifications.
  • Define design rules and provide guidelines for product manufacturing.
  • Support the Quality Department in identifying technical solutions to given issues and corrective actions.

Qualifications:

Educational Background:

  • Degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in R&D
  • Experience in test design, execution, and interpretation (magnetism, electrical, mechanical).
  • Experience with product development and innovation.
  • Experience with standardization.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong laboratory experience with testing and validation processes.
  • Outstanding problem-solving approach and reverse engineering.
  • Experience with finite element simulations.
  • Knowledge of materials and their properties in different application conditions (metallurgy, compounds, thermal ratings).
  • Understanding of technology (product, machinery, and manufacturing process).
  • Proficiency in CAD tools

Soft Skills:

  • Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Planning and project management skills.
  • Persistence and ability to influence others.
  • Positive attitude to lead and motivate the team.
  • Strategic approach to work.

Languages:

  • English (Fluent)
  • Italian (Advanced)
  • French is a plus
