Optical Engineer / Co-Founder

Privalens develops AI-designed optical systems for privacy-preserving imaging. We are looking for a senior optics expert with an entrepreneurial mindset to contribute to system development and gradually take on a co-founder role in the startup.

Responsibilities:

• Design, optimize, and integrate advanced optical systems
• Validate and benchmark prototypes
• Define technical roadmap for scaling and industrial integration
• Collaborate with partners and contribute to IP strategy
• Take on strategic responsibilities as the startup evolves

Requirements:

• PhD in Physics, Optics, Photonics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
• Expertise in optical system design, imaging, or nanophotonics/metasurfaces
• Strong publication record and scientific leadership
• Experience translating research into applied prototypes
• Excellent English

Additional Skills:

• Computational or AI-assisted optical design
• Optical fabrication and system integration
• Experience with startups, technology transfer, or industrial collaboration
• Leadership and entrepreneurial mindset
