Background

StartupGym is a Venture Studio based in Milan, Italy. We fund and invest in Startups, working on new ideas and new business models every day. We don't want to reinvent the wheel, we innovate in the simplest way possible: taking a cue from what already works in more developed countries, such as the USA. Once we find a suitable idea for the European market, we run a test with an MVP, we create a vertical team, and we appoint an industry's expert CEO to the company. Our job consists of validating the market, acquiring the first customers, scaling the business, raising capital, and growing the team. At StartupGym we want to become an important innovation hub, engaging the best talents and their skills. We aim to become one of the most important Venture Studios in Europe, creating companies that will leave their mark in the world.

Job description

We are looking for three Founders in Residence to work alongside our team of builders and launchers during the MVP, testing and prototyping, design, validation, and scaling phases of our next new Venture. 

As a Founder in Residence, you will have the opportunity to become a Co-Founder & C-Level of one of our Portfolio Company in the next 3-6 months. You will go through an entrepreneurial journey alongside our building experts and current founders to evolve your capabilities and have the chance to contribute to the creation of a new Startup from the first day of operations.   

As a Founder in Residence you will have to: 

• Help us build a new company by leading one key area: product / ops / growth / tech
• Leverage your business experience to transform a 10-slide pitch deck into a viable business model
• Lead a high potential team towards reaching product-market fit through the process of experimentation and learning
• Attract talent to the new venture you are working on

What are we looking for?

• 6+ years of work experience
• Senior leadership experience in core functional roles in high-growth startup environments: C-level or Operations / Growth / Product / Data / Tech Experience
• Experience building and leading teams from scratch
• Hunger to be an entrepreneur and potential founder
• Entrepreneurial instincts: risk-taker, proactive and hands-on
• Long-term commitment to build and scale a startup in Europe starting from Italy
• Fluent in English, with great leadership skills and social influence
