We are currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our dynamic team in Tognana, Italy

As Senior Mechanical Design Engineer you will be working in a multi-disciplinary Engineering team on Sustaining & VAVE activities on Thermal units.

What kind of work will you be doing?

  • Designing solutions with the focus on the mechanical aspects (mainly sheet metal and piping), collaborating with Suppliers, Procurement, and Industrial Engineering, being aware of the necessary product marketing inputs.

  • Creating and reviewing product documentation (CAD drawings, specifications, bills of material).

  • Meeting objectives of cost, quality, environment, and time of execution, achieving the best trade-off between market and internal customer needs.

  • Analyzing and resolving technical problems as regards products under his/her responsibility; improving, updating, reviewing the mechanical drawings according to the information from the Production, Procurement and Logistics departments, to simplify the assembly, reducing the costs and improving the quality.

What will make you successful?

  • Technical Diploma or bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering;

  • At least 5 years of previous working experience on similar activities, ideally in Chiller or CRAC and HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) sectors;

  • Good knowledge of light structural work processing is mandatory;

  • Knowledge of refrigeration principles is desirable;

  • Knowledge of thermodynamics aspects is desirable but not essential;

  • Excellent knowledge of 3D/2D CAD & PLM systems, Microsoft Office tools, particularly PTC Creo and Solid Edge. Knowledge of the management computer systems;

  • Knowledge of technical norms, company procedures of basic detailed lists;

  • Knowledge of technical drawings;

  • Good knowledge of Bill of Materials structure and, eventually, their configurations;

  • Capacity of taking decisions as for solving problems;

  • English – Intermediate level – Written and spoken;

  • Competences: result-oriented, team player, careful to details, flexible.
