We are recruiting on behalf of a leading motorcycle racing team a
Tyre Specialist.
This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge Tyre development and performance optimization in a high-paced racing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct tyre testing and measurements (dedicated and general track tests) to collect relevant Tyre data.
  • Develop, validate, and optimize Tyre models for simulation and real-world applications.
  • Use advanced simulation tools to predict Tyre behavior and identify optimal working points under various conditions.
  • Analyze tyre performance parameters such as grip, thermal behavior, wear, rolling resistance, etc.
  • Travel to multiple track events to collect performance data and support electronics engineers in optimizing bike control strategies.
  • Collaborate with vehicle dynamics engineers to integrate tyre data into overall vehicle simulation tools.

Your Profile

  • Strong background and proven experience in tyre mechanics and vehicle dynamics.
  • Proficiency with tyre simulation software (e.g., Magic Formula, Thermomechanical Models, MATLAB/Simulink).
  • Experience with tyre testing equipment and measurement tools (flat-track test rigs, force/moment sensors, pressure/temperature monitoring, etc.).
  • Data analysis and interpretation skills using MATLAB, Python, or similar tools.
  • Experience with Tyre simulation inside commercial multibody simulation codes is a plus (e.g., ADAMS, Simpack).
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to translate experimental data into strategic improvements.
  • Attention to detail and strong experimental rigor.
  • Excellent communication skills to report findings and collaborate in cross-functional teams.
  • Creativity and innovation in predicting Tyre behavior under complex conditions.
  • Availability to travel frequently to track events.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related fields.
  • Hands-on and theoretical experience in both simulation and experimental Tyre testing, preferably within a motorsports environment (F1, MotoGP, etc.).
  • Knowledge of vehicle dynamics integration and optimization.

Work Location
Hybrid: Combination of on-site presence at the team's headquarters, smart working, and travel to international track events.
