Role Description

To collaborate to the Lead Fast Reactor (LFR) design activities for experimental facilities focusing on design aspects related to layout and arrangements of equipment to be installed in experimental research laboratories

Main Activities

Perform layout engineering in all project phase for the experimental facilities.

Carry out feasibility studies, conceptual design, basic and front-end design, detail engineering and design of experimental facilities.

Develop internal standards and specific design criteria for layout.

Optimize of configuration for piping, supporting structures and routing for experimental facilities.

Prepare plant layout, general arrangements piping and equipment layout, collaborate to prepare piping classes, material selection.

Verify layout of facilities and coordinate designers inside newcleo and in consociated and external companies.

Approve layout modification and perform verifications of modifications.

Support stress analysis of pipes.

Cooperate to definition and verification of piping supports.

Coordinate preparation and verify 3D model, isometrics, MTO, piping material requisitions.

Participate to 3D model reviews, layout reviews, design reviews and technical meetings.

Collaborate to the identification of breakthrough solutions to the most complex piping challenges.

Support construction and approve field changes impacting layout.

Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams.

Participates in and fosters a work environment that is based upon openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction

Desired Qualification

Education:

Degree in Mechanical, Civil or Nuclear Engineering

Master or PhD is a plus

Languages:

Fluent Italian and English

Experience / Professional requirements:

5 years' experience in layout of industrial plants. Experience in power or nuclear or power plants is a plus

Use of CAD, 3D models and structural analysis codes.

Knowledge of engineering cycle for development of feasibility, basic design, FEED, detailed engineering, commissioning and start-up

Good knowledge of design and analysis principles for large or complex systems

Understanding of analytical techniques and relevant design codes.
