College Counsellor

As part of our continued development, we are seeking a qualified and motivated College Counsellor and High School Subject Teacher to join our team in a full-time, dual role.

Role Summary:

The successful candidate will combine the responsibilities of College Counsellor with the teaching of a high school subject at Cambridge IGCSE and/or Cambridge International A Level. Candidates must be English Mother Tongue or fully bilingual, with the ability to work confidently in English in both academic teaching and counselling contexts. This role is ideal for an educator with strong organisational and interpersonal skills who is passionate about supporting students through key academic transitions and post-secondary pathways.

Key Responsibilities – College Counselling:

• Provide comprehensive college and university guidance to high school students, supporting applications to universities in the UK, Europe, the US, and other international destinations.
• Advise students on subject choices, course pathways, and post-secondary options aligned with their strengths and aspirations.
• Support students through the full application process, including personal statements, references, timelines, and interview preparation where required.
• Organise and manage college counselling programmes, events, and workshops for students and parents.
• Work closely with school leadership and teaching staff on transition projects, supporting students as they move between key stages (e.g. Middle to High School, IGCSE to A Level, and post-secondary pathways).

Key Responsibilities – Teaching:

• Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in the candidate's subject specialism at Cambridge IGCSE and/or Cambridge International A Level.
• Prepare students effectively for internal assessments and external Cambridge examinations.
• Assess, monitor, and report on student progress in line with Cambridge assessment expectations.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure curriculum coherence and alignment across year groups.

Whole-School Responsibilities:

• Contribute to curriculum development, academic planning, and the wider life of the school.
• Participate actively in school meetings, professional development, events, and parent communication.
• Work collaboratively within a bilingual and international school environment.
