Prysmian is a global leader in energy and telecom cable systems. The Connectivity BU focuses on broadband, FTTH, 5G and hybrid network solutions offering end-to-end infrastructure systems to support the growing demand for reliable, scalable, high-speed networks.

The Product Portfolio Includes

  • Optical and hybrid cables (fiber + copper)
  • Passive connectivity components (connectors, closures, modules, splice trays, cabinets)
  • Pre-connectorized "plug & play" solutions for faster and more reliable deployment
  • Network accessories and modular systems
  • Integrated solutions for FTTx, 5G, backhaul and digital infrastructure projects

This position is part of the technical team that supports the commercial organization, working in close collaboration

with Product Management and R&D team. The role bridges customer needs, system design, and technical validation,

ensuring that Prysmian's solutions meet performance and deployment requirements across European markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to the Sales team during the offer and proposal phases
  • Translate customer requirements into system architectures and technical specifications
  • Define system performance parameters, signal budgets and reliability margins
  • Contribute to lab and field testing of prototypes and pilot systems (e.g. attenuation, reflection, bending

performance, environmental stress)

  • Collaborate with Product Management and R&D for component selection, design iterations, and solution

validation

  • Support field deployments: installation, commissioning, troubleshooting and root cause analysis
  • Prepare technical documentation including specifications, integration guides and test reports
  • Monitor relevant industry standards and technology trends (fiber optics, hybrid systems, pre-connectorized

solutions)

  • Act as the technical interface for sales, helping to resolve pre- and post-sales technical questionsRequirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Photonics or a related field
  • 8-10 years of relevant experience in connectivity, telecom networks, or optical systems
  • Solid understanding of fiber technologies, connectivity components, network architectures (FTTH, backhaul,

hybrid fiber-copper)

  • Familiarity with testing and measurement tools (e.g. OTDR, power meters, optical instrumentation)
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with sales, product, and engineering teams
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Fluent English (spoken and written)
  • Willingness to travel within in Europe

Preferred (Nice To Have)

  • Experience with pre-connectorized systems, plug & play modules, micro duct or blown fiber technologies
  • Knowledge of international standards (ITU-T, IEC, ISO) for optical connectivity
  • Exposure to 5G / FTTA solutions and multi-country technical projects
  • Field experience in network deployment or commissioning
