Valmet is looking for a System Electrical & Software Engineer that combines expertise in electrical engineering and software development to design, implement, and maintain automated palletizing systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create electrical systems and components for automated palletizing machines
  • Design and code software applications that control anthropomorphic robot and relative grippers for product picking
  • Ensure systems comply with safety standards and regulations
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of software and hardware
  • Prepare and review technical drawings, plans, and specifications
  • Diagnose and resolve issues within electrical systems
  • Engage in quality control procedures to ensure software is efficient and operational
  • Maintain and upgrade existing software systems to improve functionality
  • Interface with other technical offices both in Italy and abroad: Customer Service Technical Office, Research & Development Technical Office, Detail Engineering Technical Office.

To succeed in this role you should have or be:

  • Degree in Informatics or Automation Engineering
  • 5-8 years of work experience in R&D within structured companies that produce high-tech end-of-line products (with anthropomorphic robots)
  • Knowledge of Kuka, Fanuc or ABB anthropomorphic robot
  • Computer skills (network infrastructure, LAN, WAN, Profinet, Profibus, HTML)
  • Knowledge of Siemens Step 7, Tia Portal, Motion, Sinamics, HMI WinCC, Data network transmission: Profibus, Profinet
  • Fluent spoken and written both English and Italian
  • Open to travel
  • Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills
