Financial Controller Italy

For our Finance & Controlling Department in Italy, we are seeking a motivated and results-driven Financial Controller with strong technical expertise in accounting, controlling and reporting. The successful candidate will be based in our Rome office as part of a 5-person team and will report to the Finance Manager in Italy.

Your tasks

• Lead all controlling activities, including monthly internal and parent-company reporting, cost and revenue analysis, Balance Sheet and P&L review, and ad-hoc analyses.
• Lead month-end accounting closings, ensuring timely and accurate recording in the general ledger; manage accounts receivable and payable processes as required.
• Collaborate with Sales to analyze performance and pipeline data and produce sales forecasts for commercial decision making and revenue planning.
• Drive the preparation of the annual budget and support budget monitoring and variance analysis throughout the year.
• Prepare and consolidate quarterly financial statements (consolidated balance sheet and income statement) for parent-company reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable accounting standards.
• Coordinate with external advisors and service providers (e.g., CPA firm, tax advisors) and act as the primary interface between the Company and external parties.
• Support planning and execution of operational and financial audits in Italy, and manage related activities during fieldwork.
• Support preparation and review of the Statutory Annual Report, tax returns and Transfer Pricing documentation.
• Prepare tax calculations in collaboration with external tax advisors and supervise tax compliance activities.
• Maintain inventory and fixed asset registers and ensure correct posting and reconciliation.
• Continuously review company processes and procedures to ensure compliance and identify opportunities for improvement.

Your Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in a financial controlling or similar role.
• Proven experience with budgeting, forecasting, and consolidated financial reporting.
• Good knowledge of SAP and advanced Excel skills.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial controls; familiarity with IFRS is a plus.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills; able to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Highly organized, self-motivated and able to manage multiple priorities independently.
• Native Italian speaker and fluent in English.
