JOB OBJECTIVE:

Provide software development expertise for project/product as a member of the

Engineering Department. Working in a team environment in the Engineering department, the role requires the engineer to design, code, test, configure and document of a particular component of an Automatic Fare Collection System.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Plan, coordinates and monitor the performance of the work, identify and manage risks during all

the Work Package lifecycle until its closure.

• Provide technical expertise on project activities based on job holder's skill set to deliver in terms of

quality and schedule (including input to design, effort estimation, code and test activities).

• Ensure compliance with commitments relating to his/her Work Package (time and quality) in

accordance with project plans and objectives.

• Conducts reviews of supplied specifications.
• Design, document, code, test and correct moderately complex systems from supplied specifications,

using agreed standards and tools.

• Software development for new products and maintenance of existing products in the RCS domain.

Perform the software engineering activities required to develop one or more components of a software

solution/product. These activities encompass:

• Contribution to the software architectural design
• Refinement of the components' requirements
• Software development
• Assembly of the software components in a logical and controlled manner to evaluate the design,

behaviour, interactions and performance, and to confirm that the requirements against which the software

components have been designed are fulfilled

• Participates in the configuration item integration and verification phases
• Contribute to the production of the software data package release process
• Configuration Management of the Software components
• Contribute to the change management of the software solution
• Attend project reviews, as part of a wider team, to carry out a suitable level of engineering

governance

• Use all Software Engineering processes, methodologies and tools as required
• Develop the necessary skills and experience through training, mentoring and the e-HR processes
• Ensure cost effective reuse of product elements
• Observe appropriate quality, safety and environmental procedures, practices and work instructions

at all times

• Work constructively and openly with peer group managers and their teams across engineering to

best enable the organization to achieve its overall objectives.

• In a project environment, participate in the functional design specifications, production of high-level

system architectural designs and production of interface designs

• In a bid environment, contribute to solution design, solution estimates and proposal preparation

where applicable

Skills, Experience And Qualifications

• Master's degree in field with 4+ years' experience
• Knowledge and experience of one item from each of the following categories:
• Architectures: Service Oriented Architectures (SOA), Interfacing to legacy systems
• Configuration Control: Git
• Development Methodologies: Agile/Scrum, Waterfall
• Development Environments: QtCreator, Android Studio
• Programming and Markup Languages: Java, C++, Qt, XML/XSD, UML
• Operating Systems: Android, Linux, Windows
• Relational and Hierarchical Databases: SQL
• Experience in software lifecycles, system engineering, formal testing, and verification & validation
• Has a sound ability in the use of software design tools to manage software designs
