Science and Physics Teacher
, who will join our growing Middle and High School Team, starting from September 2026
The profile we are looking for will have excellent subject knowledge and will be able to combine academic knowledge and achievement with a passion for the subject to boost learning outcomes.
The ideal candidate will be mother tongue or equivalent in English, have proven experience in teaching Middle and High School and being familiar with experiential, project-based learning and IB programs inquiry would be a plus.
Key Roles And Responsibilities
- Scientific content and skills in English, and contribute to extra-curricular and other activities;
- Promote the 'mission' and philosophy of the school, ensuring that students are working towards being global citizens;
- Ensure that planning, preparation, recording, assessment and reporting are of the highest quality and meet the varying learning and social needs of students;
- Create a classroom environment that is inclusive and where all students feel comfortable expressing their views, opinions and needs;
- Manage effectively classroom behavior;
- Demonstrate thorough curriculum knowledge, teach and assess effectively and take active responsibility for student progress;

Education & Training
- Master's Degree in Physics or Science (or related field);
- Qualified Teacher Status or international teaching qualification;
- Qualified to teach children of Secondary school age;
- Few / many years of proven success in teaching and assessing mathematics and physics in various curricula;
- Knowledge of the IB curriculum would be a plus;
- Mother tongue English or C2 level;
- Extensive knowledge of Italian would be considered a plus.

- Prior experience in an international school environment;

The school
The Bilingual European School (BES) is the first and foremost bilingual school in Milan, with a curriculum spanning from pre-school up to high school. Our students start their education with a pre-school English full immersion, then the succeeding programs (Primary, Middle and High Schools) are all based on a 50%-50% integrated bilingual model (English / Italian), terminating with a double degree (Italian / International) in the last senior year, to allow students to enter the best universities in Italy and the world.
The BES Primary, Middle and High Schools are accredited by the Italian Ministry of Education (Italian Paritaria) and by international education organizations (International Baccalaureate, Blyth Academy), teaching an integrated and well balanced Italian and international curriculum, administering in-house all the Italian national exams and international certificates, providing learning and wellbeing support to students and teaching both knowledge and skills needed to succeed in elite Italian as well as international schools and universities.
