Job Description

As a SoC Physical Implementation Engineer, you will own the Physical Design work packages: Synthesis, Floor-planning, Placement, CTS, Routing, Sign-Off, including planning, effort estimation and implementation.

In your new role you will:

• Be responsible for the quality of the physical design and the fulfillment of the required KPIs
• Be a key contributor to reach the timing closure and signoff criteria as planned
• Be the interface with top level, digital and analog design teams both local and from other sites to ensure a smooth integration at top
• Implement, update and improve the scripts used in the Physical Design flow
• Generate Design Documentation Reports and participate to Design Reviews
• Drive and/or support risk assessment, risk management and Design/Product FMEAs

Your Profile

You are best equipped for this task if you have:

• A degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent degree with specific knowledge of microelectronic devices and related digital circuit design
• Previous experience implementing complex SoC designs from RTL to GDS, preferably in a UNIX environment – we also welcome applications from highly motivated graduates
• Experience in the RTL to GDS flow: synthesis, P&R, STA, and signoff checks in sub-micron technologies using Synopsys or Cadence toolchains is highly valued, however, foundational knowledge in these areas is also welcome
• Some knowledge in physical design work-packages planning (including effort estimation) and risk management
• An understanding of scripting with TCL, Python, and/or Perl
• Familiarity with CAD tools such as Innovus and Genus, or Design Compiler and IC Compiler is a plus
• DFT experience would be a plus
• Prominent problem solving and analytical skills
• Fluency in English (mandatory), Italian is appreciated, German would be a plus
