Due to continued growth and high demand for their services in Italy, they are seeking a Solar PV Project Manager to join their global energy team in the Genova office. The role involves leading the delivery of Solar PV owner's engineering projects for clients in Italy and worldwide, ensuring projects are appropriately resourced, delivered on time and within budget, while supporting clients in increasing project value and reducing risks. This includes coordination of internal and external resources where applicable, review and origination (where applicable) of deliverables, budget and time adherence, client liaison, and internal reporting. The role may also involve preparing bids for new work and participating in other advisory projects as needed.

This is a permanent position that offers excellent prospects for career development, involving different power generation technologies (wind, PV, CSP, BESS…), primarily in renewable energy projects.

Role responsibilities

1. Project Management:

2. Guide and manage PV projects from inception to completion, ensuring all project milestones are met.

3. Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.

4. Coordinate with internal teams, Client Stakeholders external contractors, and stakeholders to ensure project objectives are achieved.

5. Owner's Engineering:

6. Provide technical oversight and guidance throughout the project lifecycle.

7. Ensure engineering designs, specifications, and drawings are reviewed and approved.
8. Manage site assessments and feasibility studies to determine project viability.
9. Ensure compliance with local regulations, standards, and best practices.

10. Provide local know how and guidance to the team.

11. Technical Support:

12. Support preparation of technical specifications and tender documents for procurement of equipment and services.

13. Evaluate bids and proposals from contractors and suppliers.
14. Provide technical assistance during construction, commissioning, and operational phases.

15. Manage preparation of performance assessments and troubleshooting of PV systems.

16. Stakeholder Management:

17. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, regulatory authorities, and local communities.

18. Represent the company in technical discussions and negotiations.

19. Ensure transparent and timely communication with all project stakeholders.

20. Quality Assurance:

21. Implement and monitor quality control processes to ensure project deliverables meet the required standards.

22. Conduct regular site inspections and audits to verify compliance with project specifications.
23. Manage the commissioning and acceptance testing of PV systems.

Essential:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil or Industrial) or a cognate discipline; relevant master's degree is not mandatory but preferable.
• Experience in Project Management
• Desirable working knowledge of Solar PV development in Italy
• Working knowledge of Solar PV development.
• Knowledge of the relevant Solar PV design codes and certification requirements.
• Familiarity with PVsyst or other modelling software
• Familiar with international and local standards, codes, and regulations.
• Proactivity and problem-solving attitude.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in English both written and verbal.

Desirable:

• Demonstrable experience of project management of other disciplines.
• APQ
• Excellent IT skills particularly MS Excel/Word/Project and PowerPoint.
• Self-motivation, ability to use own initiative, flexible, problem solving approach.
• Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary engineering environment.
• Ability to communicate clearly & concisely in English, both verbally & written and ability to explain technical issues to non-engineers, including Clients.
• Ability to produce and review technical reports for clients, so attention to detail is paramount.
• Ability to chair and present at meetings.
