We are seeking a highly motivated
Research Assistant
with proven interest and hands-on experience in 3D genome biology to join the Bienko Group.

Your mission
Role
You will work alongside a post-doctoral researcher to investigate the spatial organization of chromatin-associated RNAs and proteins in the human cell nucleus and their role in gene regulation and cellular physiology:

• Apply oligo-based DNA and RNA FISH techniques in 2D and 3D (organoid) cell culture models
• Use super-resolution microscopy and immunofluorescence to study nuclear protein localization
• Perform functional perturbation experiments using antisense oligonucleotides (ASOs)
• Contribute to omics-based analyses, including RNA-seq and (single-cell) Hi-C
• Analyze and visualize imaging and sequencing data in collaboration with the research team
• Contribute to figures and display items for scientific publications

What you'll bring

Essential

• Degree in Biomedicine, Biology, Biotechnology, Bioengineering, Genomic Sciences, or equivalent
• Hands-on experience with oligo-based DNA/RNA FISH techniques and/or 3D genomics methods
• Basic knowledge of Python, MATLAB, R, or similar programming languages
• Fluency in written and spoken English

Preferred

• Previous experience in 3D genome biology
• Hands-on experience with Hi-C or derivative methods, ChIP-seq, CUT&RUN/CUT&Tag, ATAC-seq, or (sc)RNA-seq
• Experience working on chromatin-associated RNAs or nuclear condensates

Organisational And Social Skills

• Ability to work effectively as part of a research team, under the guidance of both a direct supervisor (postdoctoral researcher) and the Research Group Leader.
• Willingness to contribute to project-related tasks in exchange for mentorship and skill
• Openness to constructive feedback and a proactive attitude toward integrating others' suggestions into one's work.
• Readiness to present research findings in front of large audiences.
