JOB OBJECTIVE

Technical Manager with a large professional experience (min. 10 years) in the technical management of complex integrated Transportation programs/projects. This job position requires expatriation to Egypt.

The Project Design Authority role requires a sound technical knowledge of:

o    Main technologies used to implement Telecom, Security and Signalling systems
o    Way in which the above systems are usually integrated
o    Operational scenarios typical for a project in Transportation Domain (LRT/Metro/Railways) 

MAIN ACTIVITIES

The Project Design Authority (PDA):

o    Is the primary technical leader of project team. Acts as Main Technical Interface with the Customer 
o    Coordinates with his technical Customer counterpart
o    Is responsible for Solution Compliance to Customer requirements, standards and regulation and to Hitachi GTS product Policy for the whole Project 
o    Ensures the solution compliance with Hitachi Rail GTS Product Policy, with Make Team Buy/production/services strategies, contractual requirements and applicable legislation & regulations (ie export restrictions, Environmental/HSE, safety, security..)
o    Checks in conjunction with each SEM (System Engineering Manager) of each entity that the Engineering Environment (process, practices and tools) for the Solution is consistent with Country/Company requirements, and overall Solution cost, technical risks & schedule.
o    Reviews together with each SEM the technical risks and opportunities and the related mitigation plans throughout the project.
o    Prepares and maintain the DVa (Design Validation approval) discussing it with the Design Authority (DA) for approval
o    Approves the main project engineering reviews and deliverables.
o    Organizes, when appropriate, technical meetings and peer reviews together with the Architects (ARC) and the SEM and other stakeholders (industry, services, specialties…), in order to perform the solution technical assessment and validation
o    Assures the technical coordination with SEM and IVVQ
o    Supports SEM in Planning, Controlling and Coordinating all technical activities
o    Oversees configuration management activities and solution integrity with the Configuration Manager
o    Supports for deployment/installation and site acceptance activities
o    Ensures coordination and communication among the various players in technical activities and a smooth transition of responsibility to "Installation and Commissioning" organization
o    Participates to main Project Meetings (internal and external: with the Customer, Hitachi GTS subcontractors and other entities) when scheduled and/or requested.
o    Compiles reports concerning his role and responsibilities according to internal reporting procedure.
o    Drafts official letters and correspondence to be sent to the Customer.
o    Properly deals with other Contractors to manage external interfaces together with the Interface Manager
o    Assess variation requests in conjunction with GPM for submitting to the Customer
o    Supports the GPM, the Contract Manager and the Sales department in the technical negotiation of the change proposals
o    Supports the Contract Manager in preparing the Claim Files 
o    Approves, when applicable, technical documentation to be submitted to the Customer
o    Assess the overall list of deliverables

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES:

o    Masters' Degree in Engineering (Telecommunications, Electronics, IT)
o    Good Knowledge of Requirement Management process and relevant tool (eg Polarion)
o    Deep Knowledge of System Engineering Principles and relevant tools
o    Proven experience in designing complex integrated Transportation Projects during all project lifecycle (design, IVVQ and deployment)
o    Good Knowledge of Communication Systems (IP Networking, Network Security, WLAN, LTE, etc.)
o    Knowledge of Virtualized architectures (HW, Hypervisor and SW architecture)
o    Good Knowledge of Integrated Supervision and Control Systems (SCADA, Environmental Control Systems, Information Systems)
o    Good knowledge of Signalling Systems (Interlocking Systems, Traffic Supervision Systems, Train Detection Systems e.g. Track Circuits, Axel Counters, etc…), and relevant operational scenarios
o    Knowledge of Security Systems (CCTV, Access Control Systems, Intrusion Detection Systems, Digital Video and Voice recording, Fire Detection Systems, etc.
o    Knowledge of Cybersecurity and Information security: Application Firewalling (UTM), AccessControl Rules, Packet Inspection and Intruder Detection Systems and
o    Ensures the integration of cybersecurity aspects within the system architecture, in line with transportation sector standards and project-specific requirements
o    Proven capability of managing/interfacing with Customer and Suppliers
o    Proven capability of coordinating/interfacing with heterogeneous resources in an international context
o    Fluency in Italian and English
