EdgeLab is looking for an
Automation, Navigation and Control Engineer
to join its
Research & Development
team.

The selected candidate will report directly to the Head of R&D and will be involved in the design, modelling and validation of dynamic systems for
Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUV/UUV)
, contributing to vehicle development, testing and performance optimisation.

Location

: La Spezia, Italy (on-site presence required)

Key Responsibilities:

  • System and mission requirements analysis;
  • Modelling and simulation of dynamic systems for autonomous underwater vehicles:
  • Testing, validation and performance verification activities;
  • Experimental data analysis and vehicle performance optimisation;
  • Support innovation and development activities for assigned components;
  • Collaboration with multidisciplinary R&D teams.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics or Aerospace Engineering
    ;
  • Experience with
    vehicle simulation tools
    (including driving simulators);
  • Familiarity with
    virtual simulation environments
    and
    experimental testing
    ;
  • Good knowledge of
    MATLAB and Simulink;
  • Programming skills in
    C, C++ and Python
    (experience with Raspberry Pi is a plus);
  • Strong technical
    project management skills
    and
    problem-solving mindset
    .

  • Ability to adapt and work effectively under pressure;
  • Team-oriented attitude;
  • High level of autonomy and initiative;
  • Good decision-making skills.
