VOIP Network Engineer

For our offices in Milan and Rome, we are looking for Voip Network Engineer

ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, configure, and manage advanced VoIP infrastructures (on-premises, cloud, hybrid)
• Manage and maintain SBCs (Session Border Controllers) to ensure security, interoperability, and high availability
• Work with platforms such as Genesys Cloud/Engage, Metaswitch, Asterisk, FreePBX, Cisco CUCM
• Configure and monitor SIP flows, SIP trunking, RTP, codecs, SRTP, NAT traversal, QoS
• Perform in-depth troubleshooting using tools such as Wireshark, sngrep, tcpdump
• Collaborate with network, systems, and development teams to ensure integration of voice services
• Document technical solutions, configurations, architectures, and processes

REQUIRED SKILLS

Education

Bachelor's/Master's degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Automation Engineering, Robotic Engineering or Management Engineering.

Technical skills 

• Strong experience in managing complex VoIP infrastructures
• In-depth knowledge of SBCs (e.g., Ribbon, Oracle, Audiocodes, Metaswitch Perimeta)
• Experience with Genesys (Cloud CX or Engage) and/or Metaswitch
• Proficiency in voice protocols and technologies: SIP, RTP, SRTP, SIP trunking, audio codecs
• Solid networking knowledge: TCP/IP, VLAN, NAT, DNS, firewalls, QoS
• Experience in VoIP network troubleshooting and packet analysis tools

Nice to have:

• Experience with open-source platforms (Asterisk, Kamailio, FreeSWITCH, OpenSIPS)
• Knowledge of containerization and cloud environments (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure)
• Scripting skills (Bash, Python) for automation and configuration management
• Technical certifications (Genesys, Metaswitch, CCNP Collaboration, Ribbon SBC, etc.)
• Understanding of telco and carrier-grade environments (IMS, NGN)
