Technical IT Project Manager - Production IT & MES 

Do you want to lead the technical delivery of the next generation of our business-critical MES platform? Are you motivated by driving projects where IT, production, architecture, and development meet – directly on the factory floor? Then you might be our next Technical IT Project Manager for the Production Domain.

At Danish Crown, we are launching an ambitious multi-year MES program in which new solutions will be developed, tested, and rolled out across our factories in Denmark and Germany in an agile context. You will play a central role in the program, which is executed through a hybrid combination of Agile and Waterfall approaches – while also taking responsibility for selected projects within our broader shop floor IT landscape.

The Role
You will hold a key position in planning, managing, and ensuring the technical execution of projects within the domain, in close collaboration with developers, architects, consultants, the business, and external partners. You will connect the technical deliveries from ideas and design to testing, implementation, and stable operations.

As Technical IT Project Manager, your work spans both strategic and hands-on tasks: you must be able to make decisions, create structure, ensure progress in an agile setup, and understand the technical details that make a MES project succeed on a busy factory floor.

Your responsibilities:

• Drive and manage technical projects end-to-end within our new MES program and other Production IT initiatives
• Coordinate development activities with internal developers, architects, and consultants during agile ceremonies, and act as a link to other IT and business project managers
• Plan and facilitate test activities, including system tests, integration tests, and factory floor tests
• Maintain close dialogue with the business and our Business Consultants – and translate needs into a technical plan
• Ensure quality, scope, and delivery across teams
• Support deployment, go-live, and stabilization at our sites in Denmark and Germany
• Identify risks, create transparency, and drive mitigation activities

The ideal candidate:

• Possesses strong competencies in technical project management within an IT/MES/OT environment
• Can navigate complex production environments where many systems, machines, and processes are interconnected
• Has experience managing projects involving software development, architecture, interfaces, and hardware integration
• Thrives at the intersection of developers, technicians, and business stakeholders – and drives progress through collaboration
• Is structured, calm, persistent, and able to make informed decisions
• Has experience with project methods, planning, test management, and risk management
• Naturally builds trust, dialogue, and engagement across teams and organizational levels
• Has technical understanding of IT/MES, interfaces, databases, and ideally OT (PLC, SCADA, networks)
• Has a working knowledge in Danish and fluently in English – German is an advantage, but not a requirement

Department and workplace
You will join the Production Domain – part of Global IT, where approx. 270 colleagues work to operate and develop IT solutions for the entire group. In Production, we work closely with the business, factories, and external partners to ensure stable, modern, and value-creating solutions.

The workplace is Danish Crown Vej 1, Randers, and you should expect 20–40 travel days annually to factories in Denmark and abroad.
