We are looking for a SW Engineer with knowledge of C/C++ and Matlab for a defense-related activity in La Spezia

The resource will contribute to the design, development, and validation of embedded software systems and advanced algorithms for defense applications, with particular attention to safety, performance, and robustness requirements.

Main responsibilities

• Design and development of software in C/C++ (modern standards, e.g., C++14/17 or higher)
• Development, modeling, and algorithm simulation using MATLAB / Simulink
• Implementation and optimization of control algorithms, signal processing, or sensor fusion
• Software integration on embedded or real-time systems
• Verification, validation, and testing (unit testing, SIL/HIL)
• Drafting technical documentation in compliance with industry standards

• Master's Degree in Engineering (Computer, Electronics, Automation, Aerospace or related fields)
• Experience in software development in C/C++
• Excellent knowledge of MATLAB and Simulink
• Familiarity with real-time systems and embedded architectures
• Knowledge of structured software development processes (e.g., V-model)
• Good command of the English language

Nice to Have:

• Experience in defense, aerospace or safety-critical systems
• Knowledge of standards such as DO-178C, MISRA C++ or military regulations
• Experience with control systems, radar, communications or guidance and navigation
• Familiarity with embedded Linux systems
