manager
for its
Ion Imaging
Unit
. The unit offers cutting-edge services in the fields of
ion imaging, multi-electrodes array (MEA) and electrophysiology
. The unit manager will oversee its operation and lead a highly skilled team, interfacing with research groups, industrial partners and other facilities.

Key Tasks And Responsibilities

• Oversee scientific activities and manage technological infrastructure, ensuring quality standards, operational continuity, and efficiency.
• Lead and develop staff, fostering professional growth, strengthening skills, and promoting networking and exchange opportunities.
• Promote scientific dissemination and outreach
• Define priorities, resource allocation, and financial strategies to ensure sustainability, competitiveness, and alignment with facility objectives.
• Optimize protocols and workflows, integrating new technologies to enhance productivity, cost-effectiveness, and research outcomes.
• Strengthen national and international collaborations, promote a user-centric approach, and expand the facility's technology portfolio.

Job Requirements
Essential requirements
On the starting date of the appointment, the candidate must fulfil all the following conditions:

• A master's degree in a relevant field such as biology, bioinformatics, engineering, or a related discipline is required.
• A minimum of 5 years (Ph.D. included) of professional experience in a research facility, academic institution, or industry setting.
• Project management experience, especially in infrastructure setup and expansion.
• Expertise in functional cell imaging (calcium imaging, MEA readers).
• Expertise in electrophysiology.

• Hands-on experience with:

• Microscopy

• Analysis and interpretation of electrophysiology data

• Cell culture (including complex systems like organoids, embryos, parasites).

• Fluency in English

• Proven experience in managing teams and leading complex research or technical projects.
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage budget, complex equipment operations and projects, and to effectively.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams

Preferred Requirements

• Previous experience in a core facility

Salary: up to € 55.000,00 depending on the candidate'seniority
