SUBJECT MATTER EXPERT - 3D Laser Scanning & Digital Twin Service2 days ago Be among the first 25 applicantsIntertek is looking for a Subject Matter Expert in 3D Laser Scanning & Digital Twin Services for establishing, leading, and grow 3D laser scanning and reality capture services, including technical delivery, service definition, and commercial enablement across European and UK markets.The selected profile will be responsible for building and operationalizing end-to-end reality capture services.This role combines deep hands-on technical expertise with commercial acumen and market knowledge.The SME defines procedures, selects and deploys equipment and software, integrates scanning outputs into digital twin ecosystems, and actively supports business development through client engagement and industry networks.ResponsibilitiesService Setup & Technical LeadershipDesign, implement, and continuously improve 3D laser scanning and reality capture service offeringsDefine standard operating procedures (SOPs), quality standards, workflows, and best practicesSelect, test, and deploy appropriate hardware (terrestrial, mobile, UAV-based scanners) and supporting equipmentEvaluate, implement, and optimize processing and modeling software for point clouds, mesh generation, and BIM integrationEnsure data accuracy, consistency, cybersecurity, and compliance with industry and client standardsDigital Twin & System IntegrationIntegrate laser scanning outputs with BIM, asset management, GIS, and digital twin platformsCollaborate with IT, engineering, and digital teams to ensure interoperability and scalable architecturesSupport development of use cases such as asset verification, brownfield engineering, maintenance planning, and lifecycle managementMarket & Client DevelopmentLeverage strong knowledge of European and UK markets to identify priority sectors and clientsUtilize existing professional network to open opportunities and support sales of laser scanning servicesParticipate directly in client meetings, technical presentations, proposals, and solution designAct as a trusted technical advisor to clients, translating business needs into practical technical solutionsCommercial & Strategic supportSupport pricing strategies, cost models, and service differentiationContribute to go-to-market strategies and service positioningMonitor market trends, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies in reality capture and digital twinsKnowledge Sharing & Strategic SupportTrain and mentor internal teams in laser scanning technologies, workflows, and standardsContribute to internal knowledge bases, technical guidelines, and innovation initiativesRepresent the company at industry events, conferences, and technical forumsRequirementsMinimum 8-10 years of hands-on experience in 3D laser scanning, reality capture, or related geomatics/engineering fieldsProven experience setting up and scaling laser scanning services, including procedures, equipment, and softwareStrong understanding of BIM, digital twin platforms, and data integration workflowsDemonstrated experience working with clients in European and UK marketsEstablished network of potential clients, partners, or industry contacts relevant to laser scanning servicesBachelor's degree (or equivalent) in surveying, geomatics, engineering, architecture, or related disciplineSkillsDeep technical expertise combined with practical, hands-on delivery capabilityStrong commercial awareness and ability to support sales and client developmentExcellent communication and presentation skills, both technical and non-technicalAbility to work across disciplines and influence stakeholders at all levelsSelf-driven, entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to build services from the ground upHigh standards of professionalism, integrity, and quality focusSeniority level: Mid-Senior levelEmployment type: Full-timeJob function: OtherIndustries: IT Services and IT ConsultingReferrals increase your chances of interviewing at Intertek Italia by 2x.Get notified about new Specialist jobs in Italy.#J-*****-Ljbffr
