Overview Engineering Manager, Back End (Bangkok based, relocation provided) at Agoda.About Agoda Agoda is an online travel booking platform for accommodations, flights, and more.We build and deploy cutting-edge technology that connects travelers with a global network of hotels, properties, flights, activities, and more.Based in Asia and part of Booking Holdings, our 7,100+ employees represent 95+ nationalities in 27 markets, fostering diversity, creativity, and collaboration.We innovate through a culture of experimentation and ownership.Responsibilities Be hands on — write and review code, and provide expert-level coaching and guidance to engineers.Maintain a love of engineering and a passion for building scalable, elegant systems; contribute to architectural decisions and system maintenance.Do full stack engineering across infrastructure, client side, backend, performance, data, and related areas.Develop people — inspire team members to achieve their potential and integrate A-players into the business.What you'll Need to Succeed Extremely proficient in at least one programming language (Java, Scala, C#).Strong experience in systems architecture, particularly in complex, scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems.Demonstrable experience as a system owner with operational responsibility.Proficient in lower-level engineering (garbage collection, context switching, threading).DevOps culture — agility, leanness, automation, CI/CD.Good understanding of application security.Passionate about technology and the Internet.Experience working in a successful agile development team.Experience leading engineering teams with 5+ direct reports.Ability to operate autonomously, make decisions, set KPIs, with a strong sense of ownership.Practices data-driven decision making.Nice to Have Proficiency in more than one programming language.Equal Opportunity At Agoda, we pride ourselves on being a company represented by people of all different backgrounds and orientations.We provide equal employment opportunity regardless of sex, age, race, color, national origin, religion, marital status, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, citizenship, veteran or military status, and other legally protected characteristics.Disclaimer We do not accept unsolicited third-party or agency submissions.If we receive unsolicited CVs, we reserve the right to contact and hire the candidate directly.#J-*****-Ljbffr
