Who we areTrueLayer is Europe's fastest-growing Pay by Bank network.We power smarter, safer and faster payments by combining real-time bank payments with financial and identity data.E-commerce, iGaming and Financial Services businesses use our products to onboard new users, accept money and make payouts in seconds, and at scale.Live across 22 countries and with 1 new user joining TrueLayer's Pay by Bank network every 3 seconds, we're in a very exciting growth stage.This is why we're expanding the team across our offices in London, Milan, and Dublin.Listed in Sifted as one of the 100 fastest growing start-ups in UK & Ireland, and CNBC's World Top Fintech Companies, we're trusted by industry leaders like RyanAir and Just Eat Takeaway for continued innovation within our payment products.To date, we've raised over $300 million from world-renowned investors including Stripe, Tiger Global, Northzone, and Tencent.But this is just the beginning.We're looking for people who are excited about joining the Pay by Bank revolution and helping us change the way the world pays.Could this be you?DescriptionAt TrueLayer, we want the financial system to work for everyone, so we've made it our mission to open up access and put fintech at people's fingertips.We are looking for a mid-level Data Engineer with a strong DataOps and platform mindset to help design, build, and operate scalable, reliable, and secure data infrastructure on AWS.This role sits within the Infrastructure group.The focus is on data platforms, orchestration, compute, and reliability, while data modeling, SQL transformations, and business logic are owned by Analytics teams.The ideal candidate is comfortable operating production systems, collaborating closely with DevOps and Analytics, and enabling data teams through robust, well-designed infrastructure.What we expect from you, as a Data EngineerTechnical KnowledgeERM and SparkRedshift and S3Step Functions or equivalent Orchestration ToolsECS or EKSPython as the main programming languageTerraform / Infrastructure as CodeGit and CI/CD pipelinesEngineering PracticesApply engineering principles (KISS, YAGNI, DRY, etc.) when designing data infrastructure or workflowApply DevOps and SRE best practices to data systems (monitoring, alerting, automated testing)Take responsibility for production incidents, troubleshooting, and post-mortemsContinuously improve reliability and performance of data workloadsCollaboration & EnablementAbility to translate analytics needs into scalable and maintainable platform solutionsEnable self-service analytics through reusable infrastructure components, templates, and toolingWork closely with Analytics teams and collaborate with DevOps and Cloud Infrastructure teams on shared platform standardsWe'd be particularly excited if you haveFamiliarity with DBT from an infrastructure and deployment perspectiveExperience with cost optimization strategies for data platformsExperience with GCPBenefitsWhat you can expect from usCompetitive salary and meaningful equity in the companyNeed to collect the kids from childcare?Love a workout in the gym first thing?No worries, we trust you to do your best work within our hybrid framework
