RINA is currently recruiting for aMechanical Designer of Integrated Technological and Sensor Systemsto join its office in Roma within theMechanical and Materials EngineeringDivision.MissionWe are looking for aMechanical-Mechatronic Designerwith strong expertise inintegrating mechanical systems with advanced sensors (optical, laser, etc.), electronic boards, and motion control solutions. The ideal candidate has at least three years of experience in the design and development of integrated technological systems incorporating advanced sensors and electronics. The workplace will be in Rome.Key AccountabilitiesDesign and developcomplex mechanical systemsfor advanced industrial applications (e.g. in-line quality inspection solutions of the products), with a focus onchallenging environmentsrequiring high precision, durability, andintegration with electronics and sensors(optical, laser, thermal, etc.).Independently defineinnovative designsolutionsensuringcompactness, robustness, and ease of integration with electronics and automation.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (electronics, software, automation, and data science) to integrate servo-assisted systems, electric motors, and PLC-controlled motion.Optimize designs to ensure compliance with requirements forelectromagnetic compatibility (EMC),thermal management, vibration isolation, and environmental protection(IPrating,shock, vibration, temperature, humidity, corrosion).Prepare detailed technical documentation (2D/3D drawings, material specifications and bills of materials).Support inprototyping, testing, and industrializationphases, ensuring continuous improvement.#LI-IG1EducationMaster's Degree in Mechanical Studies or Mechanical EngineeringQualificationsMaster's degree inMechatronics EngineeringorMechanical Engineeringwith strong experience in sensors integrations.Proven experience indesigning mechanical systems for complex industrial environments, with a particular focus on qualityinspection systems and advanced sensor technologies.Knowledge of motion control systems (servo motors, actuators, etc.) and PLC programming basics.Proficiency in3D CAD software(Creo, SolidWorks CATIA or equivalent).Knowledge of mechanical design principles and proficiency in structural sizing usinganalytical methods of structural mechanics and machine design.
