Lead Data Scientist / Data Science & Analytics LeadAt Koonei.com , we're building the future of data-driven decision making for e-commerce and financial performance.As a fast-growing startup, we thrive on bold ideas, fast execution, and people who want to make an impact.We are a fast-growing company operating in the subscription sector, with high transaction volumes and advanced payment management.We manage complex and dynamic cash flows, where monitoring and optimizing every cost item chargebacks, refunds, bank fees, operational and business costs, is essential for the sustainability and growth of the business.We're now looking for a Data Scientist / Data Science & Analytics Lead to join our team in Milan and take ownership of how we turn data into insight, action, and competitive advantage.What You'll Do Analyzing large volumes of transactional and financial data.Developing predictive models to forecast future volumes, reduce chargebacks, and optimize refunds.Defining and tracking critical KPIs (margins, churn, cash flow, cost per transaction, etc.).Leading our internal development team by setting priorities and translating business needs into concrete technical requirements .Overseeing the creation of an internal analytics CRM capable — also with the help of AI — of suggesting operational actions and data-driven strategies.Translating data into clear , immediately actionable insights to support fast and focused decision-making.What We're Looking For Degree in a quantitative field (Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or similar).Solid experience in data science, predictive modeling, and machine learning.Strong command of Python (pandas, scikit-learn, numpy, etc.) and SQL.Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Metabase).Ability to manage projects and collaborate with development teams .Strategic and results-oriented mindset, with a strong focus on costs, margins, and business performance .Familiarity with AI-powered analytics and the ability to evaluate when and how to apply AI in business decision-making.Nice to Have Experience in subscription-based , fintech, or digital payments environments .Knowledge of fraud detection systems and chargeback/refund management.Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure).Background in business process optimization .Why Join Koonei A competitive contract aligned with your experience and level of responsibility.Direct impact on the future of a fast-growing startup .Opportunities for professional growth and development in big data and AI applied to business.A culture of collaboration, ownership, and innovation where your ideas matter.On-site position in Milan, located near Piazza Gae Aulenti.Ready to Build With Us?If you're excited by the idea of leading analytics in a high-impact role, we'd love to hear from you.
