We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. You'll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You'll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. Amazon Data Center Operations team deploys and maintains the servers and infrastructure in our data centers. Amazon uses large-scale, high-density data centers and we support our customers 24x7 all year, so work is by shift, on-call or a combination. The cloud business is continuously growing and offering new features, so our data center infrastructure is always dynamic and expanding. Key job responsibilitiesMaintain efficiently a high level of system reliability by prioritizing and resolving trouble tickets related to Systems and Network hardware problemsLinux server and XEN service virtualization troubleshootingRemediate physical layer outages on both Systems & NetworkParticipate in Data Center power & cooling events - 24x7 On-Call requirements and shift rotationsInstall & configure racks in-line with internal SLAsTriage & resolve trouble tickets for all devicesPhysical replacement of server and network devicesDefine metrics to increase our customer uptimeEnforce Amazons Security Best PracticesInteract with third-party vendors & contractorsContribute ideas to improve operational efficiencyParticipate in and deliver on a number of local / regional / global projectsParticipate in team meetings for metric analysis and project status updatesContribute in building the world's largest Cloud infrastructureAbout the team

Basic Qualifications

3+ years of IT infrastructure experienceBasic understanding of data center facilitiesSolid Understanding of Linux / Unix Administration and server Hardware Troubleshooting and hands-on experience
