About this opportunity Health and Safety professional responsible for advising a client on health & safety issues relating to a large construction projects, from project initiation to completion.Responsibilities- Supporting business unit directors in delivering business objectives;- Monitoring and working with the principal contractor appointed to complete the project;- Attending regular meetings with the principal contractor;- Providing support and assistance to the principal contractor and contractors on site;- Positively engaging with our client and developing, growing and maintaining our relationship;- Delivering a high quality service which ensures that services meet our client's requirement;- Managing the client's health safety obligations on the project to deliver a high quality service;- Advising and assisting the client with their duties under the CDM regulations and other construction related health and safety standards, regulations and legislations;- Assisting with the coordination of health and safety aspects of design work;- Cooperating with others involved with the project;- Facilitating good communication between the client, designers and contractors;- Liaising with the principal contractor regarding ongoing design work;- Producing and presenting regular reports to our main client – this will involve prompt flash reports of major issues as well as comprehensive weekly and monthly reports detailing all aspects of health and safety management on site;- Mentoring and coaching employees so that they realise their full potential;- Preparing bids for services;- Advising directors promptly of any issues that have arisen, or will arise, on projects; in particular those that might impact on Gleeds professional indemnity (PI) insurance;Benefits- Opportunities to develop and grow your career- 24 days holiday plus option to purchase additional days through the holiday purchase scheme- A contributory pension scheme- Employee Assistance Programme- Our global travel scholarship programme- Flexible working arrangementsWho we're looking forThe role will be permanently based on a large construction project and the successful candidate must be someone who can work independently.The role will require both high-level monitoring of a principal contractor and the candidate must be able to act on behalf of the client whilst maintaining a collaborative and positive relationship with the contractor.Experience, Knowledge and Key Skills- Sound construction related health and safety management experience post Tech IOSH qualification;- Experience of delivering services on a live construction site;- Cohesive knowledge of construction methods and materials;- Comprehensive knowledge and practical experience of construction related health and safety management;- Thorough understanding of health and safety legislation relating to construction;- Excellent communication skills – both oral and written;- Methodical way of thinking and approach to work;- Good problem solving, negotiating skills, financial and numeracy management skills;- Ability to prepare first class bids for services;- Competent ICT skills, with a high level of proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint;- Ability to work as part of a team and lead teams.Qualifications- NEBOSH Construction and General Certificates/Tech IOSH, Grad IOSH minimum (will be considered with right amount of experience and other qualifications)- NEBOSH Diploma/CMIOSH preferred.About usGleeds is a global property and construction consultancy with over 150 years of expertise, operating in 28 countries worldwide.From iconic landmarks to critical infrastructure, we drive innovation, sustainability and value, delivering transformative projects that shape communities and redefine the built environment.#J-*****-Ljbffr
