DescriptionJob DescriptionJoin The Team Redefining How The World Experiences Design.Hey, g'day, mabuhay, kia ora, ??, hallo, vítejteThanks for stopping by.We know job hunting can be a little time consuming and you're probably keen to find out what's on offer, so we'll get straight to the point.We're looking for a Content Strategist to join our team in Italy, focused on making sure our campaigns and always on media drive material growth through creative excellence.Where And How You Can WorkAlongside our global campuses, we also collaborate with talented contractors from all over the world to help us achieve our crazy big goals.While we support flexible, remote-friendly ways of working, for this role we're focusing on Milan so we can best support our teams and keep collaboration flowing.This role is a 12-Month contract, working full-time hours.About The RoleAs the Content Strategist for Italy, you'll be the creative performance engine behind Canva's paid marketing in the region.You'll be responsible for audience insight, creative analysis, sprint leadership, and directing a high-performing creative strategy - working at the intersection of data, storytelling, and cultural nuance.Your role is to work with channel experts to ensure that our creative system is always improving and driving growth.You understand the market and our customers, dive deep into the tools and lead our team's execution through the creative strategy flywheel with the broader team.This is a hands-on, insight-led role where local knowledge, analytical curiosity, and creative excellence drive outcomes.What you'd be doing in this roleAnalyse and optimise creative performanceAnalyse dashboards to spot winning creatives, diagnose underperformance, and feed back actionable insights to guide new concepts and iterations.Know our marketing channelsUnderstand key marketing channels and how media buying influences creative success.We value your ability to break down a winning TikTok format and adapt it for Canva over deep knowledge of specific bidding mechanics.Lead the creative flywheel and sprintsLead the full creative cycle.Research, briefing, production, editing, and analysis - driving sprint cycles with regional/global teams.Develop testable ideas grounded in user insights and market context, collaborating closely with producers, writers, and editors.Work with the broader marketing functionYou'll work closely with media buying experts, the Growth Marketing Lead for Europe, our data science team, the local and global creative teams and other key stakeholders involved in campaign execution and marketing operations.Provide local market and audience insightYou'll bring cultural fluency and market nuance perspective to every project.Identifying regional trends, visual cues, differences in product usage and behaviours that shape effective storytelling in your market.Own UGC briefing and localisationBrief and review creator content to ensure it's on-brand, relevant, and platform optimised.Resulting in scaling high-performing UGC for local audiences.Support conversion across the funnelSupport CRO initiatives to make acquisition journeys seamless, engaging, and high-converting.What This Role Doesn't IncludeDirect media buying or channel management accountabilityOwnership of lifecycle, partnerships, or brand campaignsRunning global creative production end-to-end (you'll partner with our studio for that)You're probably a match ifExtensive experience working in growth marketing teams with a focus on creative strategy.Experience working across performance-driven creative, with a deep understanding of ad metrics, audience segmentation, and platform best practicesConfidence using data tools and performance dashboards to inform decision-making and optimise creative at scaleExcellent communication skills in Italian and English, with the ability to spot tone, nuance, and resonance in creative work.Additional languages are viewed favourably.Strong experience in briefing, reviewing, and iterating creative in cross-functional sprintsA growth mindset.You're analytical, curious, and unafraid to push for betterAbout The TeamYou'll be part of a highly collaborative, fast-moving, and passionate marketing team that blends creativity and data to make magic happen.In this role, you'll help Canva show up at its best in Italy—fueling growth by bringing performance and creativity together in every campaign.Other Stuff To KnowWe make hiring decisions to engage contractors based on your experience, skills and passion.When you signify interest in the Project, please tell us the pronouns you use and any reasonable adjustments you may need during the contractor-accreditation interview process.Please note that contractor-accreditation meetings are conducted virtually.We celebrate all types of skills and backgrounds at Canva so even if you don't feel like your skills quite match what's listed above - we still want to hear from youCheck out for more info.
