Technical Operations Engineer - Trainee, Data Center Engineering OperationsAWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure, keeping the cloud running.We support all AWS Data Centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that enable our customers to access the innovation they rely on.The Infrastructure Operations (Data Center) team is the backbone of AWS, supporting a rapidly growing business 24/7.It maintains the physical infrastructure of AWS, ensuring high standards for safety, security, availability, productivity, capacity, efficiency, and cost.The Data Center Engineering Operations Trainee will learn and support data center engineering operations within an Amazon Data Center, including risk management, corrective and preventive maintenance of critical infrastructure, vendor management, and metric reporting.This is a 6-month fixed-term hire with the possibility to convert to a full-time role.Key Job ResponsibilitiesLearn the Data Center industry through in-classroom and on-site experience.Assist the on-site management of contractors, sub-contractors and vendors, ensuring all work performed is in accordance with established practices, procedures and local legislation.Maintain performance benchmarks, conduct analyses and prepare reports on all aspects of critical facility infrastructure operations and maintenance.Generate Change Management requests and Incident Management tickets for DCEO as directed.Learn and contribute to documentation relevant to business and facility operations.Assist with the installation of racks and the provision of power/cooling within its constraints.Participate in routine maintenance and emergency services on critical systems such as switchgear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, chillers, cooling towers, computer room air handlers, and building monitoring systems.Assist with the design, implementation, commissioning and build-out of new facilities.Assist with management of facility assets and infrastructure and inventory asset management as directed.May participate in Construction & Operational Meetings as required.Assist with work order compliance and review of contractual SLAs.Interface with Infra Ops teams for day-to-day operational requirements.Assist in the resolution of infrastructure engineering or services issues.Deliver exceptional customer service and satisfaction.Meet daily hours of operations, shift and on-call requirements for response during shift rotations.A Day in the LifeProvide support and assistance to the onsite operations team, troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within internal Service-Level Agreements (SLA).Perform rack installs, rack decommissioning, and facility management.Provide operational readings and key performance indicators to ensure uptime is maintained.On-site management of contractors, subcontractors and vendors, ensuring all work performed is in accordance with established practices, procedures and local legislation.Performance and oversight of maintenance and operations on all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center.About the TeamDiverse Experiences.AWS values diverse experiences.Even if you do not meet all of the preferred qualifications, we encourage candidates to apply—whether your career is just starting, hasn't followed a traditional path, or includes alternative experiences.Why AWS?Amazon Web Services is the world's most comprehensive and broadly adopted cloud platform.We pioneered cloud computing and continue to innovate.Work/Life Balance.We value work-life harmony and offer flexible hours and arrangements.Inclusive Team Culture.Employee-led affinity groups foster a culture of inclusion, and ongoing events and learning experiences celebrate diversity.Mentorship & Career Growth.Endless knowledge-sharing, mentorship, and career-advancing resources are available for professional development.Basic QualificationsInterest in the maintenance of a Data Center or critical space facility.Strong verbal and written communication skills, strong attention to detail, strong leadership and organizational skills.Facilities Management mindset and ability to prioritize in a complex, fast-paced environment.Physical Security protocol awareness.Computer literate, confident with Office Suite.Physical component requiring the ability to lift rack equipment;
