Position: Grid Connection EngineerLocation: Milan, ItalyWho are we recruiting for:Our client is a leading international IPP with a strong focus on solar PV, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and grid-connected projects.With ambitious growth plans in Italy, including large-scale PV development and hybrid BESS integration, the company is expanding its Global Engineering & Technical Support (GETS) team to support projects across the full development and construction lifecycle.This role offers the opportunity to join a multidisciplinary engineering team, primarily supporting grid connection projects in Italy while also providing remote technical support to international assets.What will you be doing:Act as a technical reference for grid connection and electrical engineering activities within the GETS team, with a strong focus on Italian regulations, codes, and design standardsSupport PV and BESS projects across all phases, from early-stage development through EPC and commissioningConduct grid connection feasibility studies, including load flow, short-circuit, and stability analysis for PV and BESS projectsPrepare preliminary electrical layouts, network impact assessments, and CAPEX estimates for grid connection scopesCoordinate with DSOs (Distribution System Operators), TSOs (Transmission System Operators), and local authorities to obtain permits and grid access approvalsPerform site visits to evaluate electrical infrastructure and identify potential connection challengesReview and approve design documentation, single-line diagrams, and protection schemes in line with Italian standards and contractual requirementsSupport QA/QC activities, testing procedures, and as-built documentation for grid connection worksCollaborate closely with Construction, O&M, Asset Management, and external contractors to ensure technical alignment and timely project deliveryIdentify opportunities to optimise grid connection design standards, network integration procedures, and overall project efficiencyAre you the ideal candidate?Minimum of 2 years experience in electrical engineering roles related to PV and BESS grid connection projectsStrong knowledge of Italian electrical codes and standards, including CEI, TERNA connection rules, LV/MV regulations, and grid compliance proceduresSolid understanding of PV and BESS project design, construction, and authorisation processes in ItalyProficiency with AutoCAD, ETAP, PVSyst, and/or PowerFactory; experience with SCADA and protection design is a plusDegree in Electrical, Power, or Renewable Energy EngineeringFluent in Italian with strong technical English skillsStrong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving abilities, with high attention to detailAbility to work independently in a cross-functional, international team environmentWhats in it:Competitive base salary plus benefitsExposure to large-scale PV and BESS projects with direct grid connection responsibilitiesLong-term career development within a multidisciplinary and international engineering teamOpportunity to contribute directly to the energy transitionWho we are:Executive Integrity is a global executive search and recruitment consultancy for a more sustainable world, with a focus on talent within the Green Technology and Renewable Energy sectors.We donate a proportion of all our profits to Friends of the Earth International
