Role Description The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the overall management and optimization of maintenance activities, ensuring maximum efficiency and reliability of Catania and Medolla sites.The role must ensure that the sites are maintained in accordance with good engineering practice, statutory requirements, and EHS and GMP standards and approved budget.ResponsibilitiesTeam SupervisionManage, recruit, and develop a team of qualified maintenance techniciansProvide inspirational leadership, mentorship, and training programs to ensure continuous professional growthMaintenance PlanningDevelop strategic plans for preventive maintenance, aiming to minimize operational disruptions and extend the lifespan of equipmentImplement performance monitoring systems to predict and prevent failuresCoordination of Maintenance ActivitiesCoordinate resources to efficiently execute corrective maintenance activitiesPromptly address issues and implement long-term solutions to prevent recurrence of failuresResource ManagementOptimize the utilization of financial, human, and material resources allocated to the departmentNegotiate with suppliers to ensure timely availability of critical parts and materialsCollaboration with Other DepartmentsCollaborate closely with production, quality, and safety managers to ensure mutual understanding of operational needs and achieve common goalsAdoption of Innovative TechnologiesIdentify and implement innovative technologies, such as predictive maintenance systems, to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costsBudget ManagementParticipate in defining the departmental budget and ensure adherence, constantly seeking opportunities to optimize expenses without compromising maintenance qualityWorkplace SafetyOversee the implementation of workplace safety protocols and ensure that the team adheres to high safety standards during maintenance activitiesQualifications & ExperienceEducationBachelors level degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred) or Industrial / Electrical / Chemical Engineering with a proven experience in machinery / mechanical subjects (e.g. rotating machineries, steam boilers, HVAC / R units, purified water systems, electrical systems)ExperienceMinimum 5 years of experience in the manufacturing environmental and/or engineering operations of pharmaceutical or chemical manufacturing facilities (fermentation & API experience is preferred)Consolidated experience into an Engineering & Maintenance team in Italy is preferred, experience in more than 1 facility and functional area in a Pharmaceutical company is a strong plusProven ability to operate effectively in a matrix organization, influence outside of direct reporting relationship and leverage network valueCore CompetenciesFluent in ItalianFluent in EnglishAdvanced leadership, time management, and problem-solving skillsKnowledge of respective reliability techniques, practices, precedents, theory and principles.Demonstrated technical knowledge and expertise with drug product manufacturing and packaging equipment or utility systems and equipment (e.g. rotating machineries, boilers, HVAC / R units, purified water systems, HEPA filtration)Advanced knowledge of SAP-PMDemonstrated technical capabilities and understanding of maintenance work processes and the interfaces with other functional groupsPrevious reliability / maintenance engineering experience preferred.Project management experience and / or equipment reliability principles knowledge preferredGood communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels of the Zoetis organizationPassionate about Operational Excellence (Continuous Improvement - Lean Manufacturing - 6 sigma - Visual Management - Standard Work - 5S and so on)Understanding of the animal health regulatory requirementsDeep knowledge of current GMPs as well as environmental, health and safety regulationsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsResults-oriented and able to work effectively in a dynamic environmentAbout ZoetisAt Zoetis , our purpose is to nurture the world and humankind by advancing care for animals.As a Fortune 500 company and the world leader in animal health, we discover, develop, manufacture and commercialize vaccines, medicines, diagnostics and other technologies for companion animals and livestock.We know our people drive our success.Our award-winning culture, built around our Core Beliefs, focuses on our colleagues' careers, connection and support.We offer competitive healthcare and retirement savings benefits, along with an array of benefits, policies and programs to support employee well-being in every sense, from health and financial wellness to family and lifestyle resources.Global Job Applicant Privacy Notice#J-*****-Ljbffr
