Position Post-Doctoral Research Scientist – Buffa Laboratory (IFOM, Milan)OverviewWe are seeking a highly motivated post-doctoral scientist to work on the project "Single-cell AI-reconstructed gene network rewiring in hypoxia to dissect mechanisms of cancer progression and metastasis (REWIRE)".The laboratory applies systems biology and single-cell sequencing to study how hypoxia rewires cancer cells, using perturbation experiments in cell lines, organoids and CRISPR screens.ResponsibilitiesDesign and perform perturbation experiments using CRISPR, CRISPR-based screens, shRNA, and other advanced molecular biology techniques.Conduct omics experiments (RNA-seq, single-cell RNA-seq, proteomics, etc.) and analyze the data to map gene network rewiring under hypoxia.Generate and maintain high-quality experimental records, reagents, and data sets.Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members and contribute to project milestones.Lead small research projects and mentor junior staff when required.QualificationsPhD or equivalent in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biotechnology, or a closely related field.Research experience in genomics, functional genomics, perturbation-based assays, and molecular biology.Proficiency with CRISPR-based screens and single-cell technology.Strong analytical skills and experience with transcriptomics / single-cell / proteomics data.Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proficiency in English.Evidence of publications in peer-reviewed journals; first-author papers preferred.Desired SkillsExperience with grant writing and previous funding.Knowledge of other biochemical techniques such as shRNA.Track record of presenting findings at conferences and seminars.Strong sense of teamwork and autonomy.Benefits & ContractAnnual renewable fellowship (post-doc) with competitive salary.International work environment, flex-time and remote options.Access to lab facilities, medical service, laptop, cafeteria, and parking.Company nursery, support for family relocation and work-permit processing.LocationMilan – Scalo di Porta Romana areaApplicationSend a motivation letter, CV, and contact information for at least two references to the IFOM recruitment office.The position is open to all qualified candidates.Eligibility: This announcement is addressed to both sexes pursuant to Laws ****** and ****** and to people of all ages and nationalities pursuant to Legislative Decrees ****** and ******.#J-*****-Ljbffr
