MissionAt IBA (Ion Beam Applications), we are world leaders in proton therapy—an advanced form of radiation therapy that enables precise, targeted treatment of cancer while sparing healthy tissue.Each proton therapy center we build is a combination of cutting-edge technology, complex infrastructure, and close collaboration with hospital teams.The installation and operational launch of these systems require dedication, precision, and a strong partnership mindset.IBA is proud to collaborate with the Oncology Referral Center, Centro di Riferimento Oncologico IRCCS to bring advanced cancer treatment to more patients.As aPhysics Service Engineer, you will initially participate in the full installation of IBA's proton therapy equipment during the first year of the project (installation, calibration and commissioning activities on the Proton Therapy Centre).Once installation is completed, your role will be to ensure that the equipment is functioning properly.The installation is expected to be completed within 11 months with a start planned on May-Jun ****.The start date may be adjusted if necessary.The contract will start around January ****, followed by training until the start of the installation (in Italy, Belgium and abroad).We offer a fixed-term contract of 15 months with the possibility of extension (4 months of training + 11 months of the installation).Challenges we trust you withAsBeam Physics Service Engineeryou are responsible for:During the installation phase (+/- 11 months)Participating in the installation of a broad range of IBA equipment and technical tools on the Proton Therapy site with a specific focus on beam-related equipment.Performing the beam-related equipment calibration following procedures.Operating the system (understanding the software/hardware architecture of the system and the PT centre components) in order to obtain a beam that matches the requirements.Setting and aligning dosimetry tools.Critically analysing a large amount of data to diagnose potential technical issues.Testing and validating the equipment according to the specifications and ensuring the customer requirements are met in terms of compliance, quality, technical performance and timing.Managing all aspects of beam-related commissioning activities: Pencil Beam Scanning (PBS) et al.Troubleshooting the equipment.Ensuring the highest quality of state-of-the-art technologies and services.During the Customer Service phaseMaintaining and troubleshooting the equipment.Operating the system and providing technical support to the medical staff during patient treatment and clinical operations.Ensuring the client requirements are met in terms of technical performance, timing and safety.Training customers.Carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment (shift work).Upgrading and improving the system in collaboration with the R&D department.What We ValueYou haveA Master degree or PhD in Physics or engineering.Experience in High Energy Physics, Particle Accelerators or Medical Physics is a strong asset.Good knowledge of MS Excel, Python and data acquisition scripting.The ability to troubleshoot large system issues.Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Italian.And you also areAble to follow rules & regulations and you can deliver on strict deadlines.Analytical, good troubleshooting skills, able to identify root cause of issues.Willing to share your knowledge in your area of expertise.A team player with strong interpersonal skills.Willing to travel extensively during the training period.A flexible person, willing to work in rotating shift work, night work and weekends (up to 50% of your time).Customer-oriented.#J-*****-Ljbffr
