empowers you to own them to completion.We are looking for Data Center Technicians to join our expanding Infrastructure Operations team.Data Center Technicians are the primary resolver and troubleshoot and solve a range of data center infrastructure issues including, but not limited to : hardware, fiber, networking, and related problems.You will be part of the Data Center Operations (DCO) team, overseeing the operation and maintenance of the IT infrastructure and hardware for data centers in AWS Cloud regions.You will become the primary resolver for your support team, and gain troubleshooting skills on different hardware and software cases.You will be able to troubleshoot and solve most infrastructure issues and engage other appropriate solutions groups on more complex problems to drive solutions.Key job responsibilitiesThis is a customer-facing role that requires strong technical, communication, and problem-solving skills.Your activities will include (but not limited to) :Build relationships with internal teams and customers along with innovating effective solutions to meet issues & problems as they ariseConducting site assessments at various facilities to proactively prepare for the onsite installation of AWS equipmentInstalling / expanding / provisioning AWS infrastructure at the third-party premises, data center, and / or non-traditional environmentTroubleshooting hardware, network installations & configurations and performing network testing, break / fix, rack installations and / or decommissioning and solving complex problemsProactively identifying and implementing strategies that prevent support issues and / or further enhance the customer experienceProcess and track purchase orders for data center hardware componentsMonitor spare parts inventory levels and initiate replenishment ordersMaintain accurate records in internal ordering databasesExecute asset transfers across global locationsTrack order approvals and provide timely updates to stakeholdersIdentify and report shipment issues, including delays, cancellations, and expedited requestsManage shipment label distribution for new equipment and returnsCoordinate with global teams to ensure timely delivery and resolution of issueConduct day-to-day business, both internally and with external customersRequired travel up to 25% on average.You will be required to travel between locations to install, service, and retrieve AWS equipment.Physical ability to push and / or pull heavy objects into position (regularly lift up to 18kg and participate in team lifts of 30 kg)May lead or participate in efforts to develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and tools that improve operational efficienciesMay lead larger projects that require cross-functional alignment and support, including large-DC installations, global-reaching business initiatives, and / or development of mechanisms to support growth to ensure compliance with global group standards.May be required to work at height to maintain AWS infrastructure equipment while adhering to AWS health & safety guidelines.Most of all, you will have a passion for technology Qualifications4+ years of data center engineering or operations experienceKnowledge of fundamentals of hardware, networking, security, databases (relational or NoSQL), operating systems (Unix, Linux, and / or Windows)2+ years of leading large complex programs experienceA valid (EU) driving license is required as Data Centers may not have any public transportation available nearby.Preferred QualificationsBachelor's degree, or 4+ years of relevant technical position experienceExperience working in a customer-facing environmentCompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, Cisco / CCNA, Linux (Redhat), Hardware (installation), AWS, or other industry relevant certificationsKnowledge of power, cooling, cabling, networking hardware, inventory management, and automationAmazon is an equal opportunities
